You know those 10% off coupons Best Buy sends their reward zone customers? Has anyone used them on a console/system? I'm thinking about grabbing a 360, and this would sure help.

Check the fine print. Usually, those explicitly exclude game consoles (no margin in those to discount). Then again, there's something like 4 different versions of that coupon, and I recall one version a while ago with fewer exclusions.

I didnt see anything that excluded consoles, I was hoping someone had some experience with it.

I have one of the coupons that worked from Jan 5th to Jan 8th.

There is a coupon for cds, dvds and video games, however the exclusion says video game hardware.

There were two other coupons for tvs, computers and other electronics. The fine print does not exclude video game hardware, however there is no listing for video game hardware on the inclusion list. I haven't tried it. If it works, you could get 12% off a system.

Well there is now a legit 40 dollar off coupon for Circuit City. So that would basically amount to the same amount of discount. Unless you got reward zone dollars you were looking to use up.

everyone I have allways gotten has said no game hardware. I got one tonight actually. It said no game systems. I didn't realize they sent out different ones????

This is the one with 3 coupons. There's the 10% of video games, but there is also the 10% off any item from the following categories. Video game hardware isnt listed on the front, but not listed on the exclusions.

If it doesn't list the item in the exclusions, then the register should automatically knock off the 10%. If not, then the cashier will need to manually adjust the price, and if they complain about it, ask them where to look on where it says about the console not being on the approved list for the coupon.

shrike is right if they complain about it not working and it says absolutley nothing about video game systems or consoles or anything then it should work but as a rule of thumb it doesnt apply to consoles, apple, bose, computers, laptops and other such products that have no markup so its a shot and if it doesnt say anything about excluding it then if they still put up a fuss ask them for a manager
i know how this works i work at a best buy

Nowadays those 10% off coupons would say "From Select Categories" and AFAIK gaming consoles (or gaming stuff in general) are not even close to one of those select categories printed on the coupons.
