Question About CC Deal

I bought a Gamecube last week for $99 from CC. It wasn't part of any deal, just the basic console + 1st party controller. This week, CC gives a free Mad Catz controller when you buy a GC. Is it possible for me to bring my receipt back and get the free controller?

I'm wondering the same thing. I just picked up another cube on friday. I don't think they will give you the controller though. I think it's only for sale prices that they will honor things like that.

If you didn't open it, return the system for a refund and then buy another system at CC to get the free controller. Otherwise, buy another Gamecube this week with the free extra controller and return that system sealed with the old receipt so you still get the free controller with your Gamecube purchase.

The best thing I can recommend is to call the CC you brought it from as something like this is YMMV big time. It shouldn't be a problem but again... some CC's are rather picky about these things so its best to call ahead.

Good luck and let us know what happens regardless. :)

Ok if you still have your reciept here's what you do. Go buy another cube and get the free stuff. Then take the new cube you just bought and use your reciept from the first cube you bought to take it back. I did the same thing this week with a harddrive that Best Buy decided to put out a $40 rebate on after I had already bought it.

Aaaahhhh... another Minnesotan on the board as well. I've not been up to St. Could in a long time, but the CC up there I heard is kinda nasty. Then again, I've never been to that location so what do I know lol!

While I would do that for an item with a rebate on it, for this free controller its not worth all that leg work so it might be easier to just see if the store can adjust the price so you get the controller for free.

I don't think that would work since theres a serial number on the Cube and the serial number on the new Cube wouldn't match the serial on the old receipt.

Or in the computer system for that matter.
