Question about Heart Gold and Soul Silver

I loved the original gold and silver games and remember greatly beating both back years ago. I bought silver first, then went on to gold and they were both wonderful additions to the series. Now my question is, which pokemon rosters are going to be in HG and SS? Is it only 1st gen and the 2nd gen from the original gold and silver? or are the diamond/pearl/platinum rosters in them too? Tried searching around and it's sorta confusing.

yeah but are the ones from diamon/pearl and platinum in there along with the 1st and 2nd gen? or can you only get those by trading?
 
There are a few diamond/pearl/platinum pokemon in heartgold and soulsilver, but you can't catch them all (such as starter and legendary)
