Question about paypal debit card and free trials

Hey Everyone I've got a question about Free Trials.

I was recently looking over Cash Crate and there were alot of offers that were those free trials that required a credit card but if you cancel before the trial is over they won't charge you. Well my question is, I have a paypal debit card and usually my paypal account has nothing in it, if I used my paypal debit card on this and then for whatever reason after I cancel my trial they still try bill me and I don't have enough in my paypal account what would happen?

I am interested in this because I would like to do these things but I want a zero percent chance of getting billed for something that I don't want to be billed for.

Paypal will deny the charge. I've done this several times in the past when the debit card first came out though, over a year ago, so I can't say it's the same thing now. I always had a problem with them being overzealous about what the card was used to pay for.
