Question about Platinum vs Gray colored wavebird

Hi,

I have a question about Platinum versus Gray colored wavebird. I just recently got my 2nd wavebird, a Platinum colored one. I compared the two receivers that plug into the GameCube and didn't noticed anything different about them. But when I tried to use the receiver that came with the gray wavebird with the platinum wavebird, it didn't work. I double-checked to make sure the dial for both receiver and wavebird matches. So it seems like you can't just mix-and-match the receiver with the wavebird.

Does anyone know if the receiver that comes with the gray wavebird is compatible with the platinum wavebird?

I have a grey and a platinum and have never had a problem with mixing the receivers. You might try putting them on the same channels before you turn on the system or change the battery.

I also have both colors and have switched back and forth- dont even know which one originally came with which at this point. Not sure why you are having trouble.

Thanks for the replies. I went back and tried all different combo of receiver + wavebird. At first, some combo didn't work. But after I turned the dial back and forth and reinsert the receiver, it seems to work.

So I'm thinking maybe one of my receiver is just a little flaky or something. But at least I know now that they should work with any wavebird.
