Question about PS+

As long as I have the free PS+ in my "previous downloads" section, I can redownload a free PS+ game even if my subscription expires and I renew it later? Lately I've run out of HD space, so I just start the downloads to free PS+ games and then cancel them so I don't have the games taking up HD space until I can get a bigger HD. I'm just wondering if what I'm currently doing is useless or I should keep starting the downloads to free stuff then canceling.

You don't need to actual download them to get them attached to your account, as just getting to the download page with the link to start the download is all you need to do. Then you just need to be a PS+ member to be able to download them again.

When you rejoin, any games you previously downloaded, should move up to the top of your download list.
