Sorry for the noobish question.

I have a PSN account. I used to own a PS3 and barely even played it when I used it. I did however, add a $20 PSN card to my account.

Is there any way I can maybe recuperate any of this by perhaps buying something for someone or gifting it to someone? I don't know anything about how PSN accounts work, so any help on this would be great.

Thank you!

The $20 is stuck to your PSN account/ user ID. Sorry, but you cannot buy a gift for someone else.

You could give/sell someone your PSN account info and they should be able to sign in on your account and use the $20 on their PS3.

Gamesharing is a way to recoup your money. Make sure you buy $20 worth of stuff that's in demand, or you'll have a hard time getting rid of it. Something like Back to the Future or any recent PSN game would net you a quick $15/$20.
