Question about steam gift

recieved a gift game for steam, but is the email tied to anything?

or could I forward it to someone else?

I think it is tied to your steam account. However you might be able to regift it. I am not sure.

You could gift it to me! I don't have HL1 and would love to get it.

Does it give you a code or something? If so you can probably just give the other person the code and they will enter it in their steam account. Now if it gives you a link that you click and it activates it automatically on Steam then you are probably out of luck.

However, I think, as in the case of HL2 and Ep1 with TOB. If you already own a copy of HL1 it will give you the option to gift the new copy.

I'm pretty sure that, if you try to add more than one copy of a game to you Steam account, anything past the first one becomes a gift.

You can just gift it to some else's email assuming they have Steam tied to that email I think.
