Question about the gore in the Jade Empire

Hey all. I have a question

I started playing Jade Empire this past weekend. I've been fighting alot of villians and its been pretty cool.

One time however I was fighting a group of people with my sword. Just as I was about to finish off the last guy, I somehow triggered an unbelievably violent decapitation animation. A big shower of blood shot directly up in the air. It completely took me by surprise.

Anyways...I was wondering if anyone knows how to trigger that again. Are there more gore sequences like that? I think I hit that last guy with a "spirit thief" spell twice but I dont really remember.
 
As I recall, certian specail moves, styles, and weapons trigger the ultra gory scenes. Check the gamefaqs or bioware forums for specifics, there are several finishing/gore moves.

I played through it once before seeing gore, and that was only cuz I wactched the demo movie and tried to get it to work.
 
Yeah, you can literally finish off enemies into an explosion of blood. It's called a Harmonic combo.

been a while since I played so I'm foggy on the details, but you have to hit an enemy with a support or magic style- a green meter around the enemy will start counting down- switch to a martial style and hit them with a strong attack and you will finish them off.

example:
strike with Heavenly wave strong attack - switch to legendary strike and land a strong attack.

this will only work on certain types of enemies like humans.

another combo would be to hit them with magic like ice. they'll be frozen in a chunk of ice, then switch to a martial style and strong attack to shatter them into pieces.

That makes sense because I remembered I hit the guy with a "spirit thief" spell before I chopped his head off. It was pretty wild stuff.
 
wow, I played thru the entire game and never, ever saw that. The combat system is sooo broken and easy that there was no need for any of that stuff.
