Question about trading Galactic Civilizations 2 download game

Hope this is the right place to ask, if not then please don't flame me, and mods can you please move my thread to the proper place.

I have Galactic Civilizations 2 that I purchased and downloaded online, I have an account but no game discs.

Is it possible to trade/transfer over my account to someone else? I was interested in trading it for a DS game.

Any info is appreciated, thanks!
 
It honestly depends on the TOS for the account & purchase, though I wouldn't be able to make a guess at it unless I could find the TOS for it.

Around here, most MMORPG's don't let you sell accounts, so they can't be traded/sold. I'm not sure if its's the same for that game or not, though again, the TOS/EULA would say for certain.
 
I guess I'll have to do some reading then...hard way, grrr...

Though it's a single player only game, and Stardock doesn't seem too concerned about what you do with your key (install on as many machines as you want) as long as you buy it.

Better yet, I'll shoot them an email asking about it and if I can buy the game discs, as when I purchased the game the discs only cost shipping...

Until than heads up anyone interested in this game. I may be able to trade it soon. I'm looking for MKDS, MPH, or WiFi adapter for DS. Shoot me a PM if your interested, and I'll get back after I recieve my answer from Stardock.
 
Just heard back from them, seems that while I can obtain the game disks for only $5 plus shipping, I cannot legally sell, trade, or even give the game away to anyone else. For someone like me who doesn't have the cash to buy a $50 game every month, I depend on places like EB games to sell or trade up my old games for something new. Now that I'm through with the game it's practically valueless unless someone wants to come over to my house to play it (I think that's allowed). If I would have known Stardock was this strict with their game licenses, I would have pirated the game...oh well...
