Question about used cables

Is there any downside or are there any risks to buying used component cables for the ps3 and xbox 360? Found a $40 component cable for $12 used at gs so just making sure it's all good before I jump on it. Thanks.

Amazon has first party / unused cables for $16 (PS3) and $4.50 (360). I wouldn't buy used.

+1 for Monoprice if you are looking for price and quality and don't mind them not being first party.

the 4 in 1 is very tempting, don't mind them not being first party as long as they work just as well, so monoprice would be the best buy here?
