Question for CC Employee

Darkfire001

CAGiversary!
Applied & Interviewed for a Seasonal position with CC and was told I'll get a call in the next couple days if they have an opening (They do).

However, my interviewing manager was pretty poor, and failed to fully discuss my possible employment with them other then a pretty obvious basic that the employment would be seasonal ending on/around the 1st of January at which point if I do well a "longer term associate position" might be available.

I don't really mind either way since I'm in College, alas he failed to discuss any more specifics, more importantly how Pay-rate and such would work whilst there. I'll most likely be talking with them tommorow to confirm things, so if some CC employees both Seasonal or part-time could fill me in on what you started at hourly as Associates/Salespeople that would be much appreciated.

Just need a couple examples to get a gist of it, much appreciated :)

They normally do not mention pay untill the second interview or the job offer. That is the same thing I would say if I had no intentions of hiring someone, it is nicer than saying no thanks, or something worse. And I have done hundreds of interviews for circuit city, not currently employeed by them by the way either, Joe.

normaly pay is at about $6-6.50 an hr. (of course depending on area/market, I am in west tx), but is a good way to get your foot in the door. I started the week of thanksgiving in 2000 as a seasonal computer associate (commission back then). and worked my way up, i went to home theater, back to computers, back to home theater, managing home theater and finally managing computers, and making great money (for west tx more than the average income by far). So you ould get as far as you want w/ them, hopefully you have good luck though, Joe.

Okay, forgot to mention this was a followup to a previous interview, and he told me he would be talking with the Manager of the Entertainment dep. in particular then get back to me.

I was contacted by both the interviewing manager, but also the store owner a recently. So I'm fairly confident they need people, and I'm more then expierence enough and well versed to do well. So, hoping for the best.

Freestyle, when CC allows employees to buy products is it Wholesale + 10% like at BB or is it setup differently?

Had a friend with CC up until recently, who actually bought audio stuff straight from a Company supplied website, quite a big saving.

As far as the discount its usually at cost + shipping/handling. So some items there are some pretty good savings while others its not quite as much.

Good luck with the final interview. If you made it this far you are pretty much in. Usually if you do very well they might keep you around past the holiday season. I actually started out as a warehouse associate back in September 2002 but then they moved me to music in about May 2003 when my location was about to lose our main music employee (as she was moving out of the area). Been in music since. :D

Demon is right it is supposed to be cost + 10%, although I worked there from nov 2000 (i was hired seasonal as well) till aug of 2005 and left a manager, and when we had actual cost there was some diff on some products, although i can't complain, i was just spoiled at true cost. also you can get mfg direct accomodations as well like polk audio at 65% off, hk/infinity 70% off, monster cable at 65-70% off as well and there is always special ones as well, Joe.

Well I'm looking to get some nice Audio Products & Video Products so that alone would make up for any salary difference from my prior job.

However, I'm a bit confused as to how this CC does their hiring. I followed all of their requests in a timely manner, came in twice with the interview the second time. Everything seemed fine, but it's been a week now and no word.

On the flipside when I talked to him over the phone he stated they were looking over several applications, and would have a decision by the end of this week or beginning of next and I should hear back by then.

Hope so, don't want to crawl back to my previous job :p
