Radio antenna for receiver

I need an antenna so my receiver can pick up radio. I'm looking for something that is simple, non powered if possible, and not too big. I have an antenna I could use, but the power cord isn't long enough and it's too big for where I can place it.

Anyone have any advice on where to look for an antenna?

You're just looking for FM radio, right? Why don't you just plug a piece of wire into the antenna port and string it up? Always works well enough for me.

A bent paperclip in the shape of an L always works for me.

Yeah, I was going to suggest a thin piece of speaker wire and you can have it as long as you like.

I hadn't thought of those. I might try those if I'm ever in a pinch.

I ended up trying another antenna we had laying around. It works okay, even without a power adapter plugged in. I hadn't tried it till now since I didn't have an adapter for it. NPR comes in just fine.
