ESREVER THAT :) not great but 5 bucks off the messenger kit might be worth something.
Yea, I was thinking about the messenger kit. May come in handy one day. No need for the mic.....I got a wireless one. ;)

Thanks for the heads up.

Fixed.

I still don't understand why people wont use a USB keyboard over that lame messenger kit. I just use the wireless PS3 keyboard (the one with a USB dongle) on all of my systems

yea i saw that at another radio shack the other day. 5 dollars off :|
hmm..

With Xbox live on conky mode right now..it's kinda useless atm.
wow i had no idea that radio shack even had stuff for the 360
they started it this year. But don't expect huge savings :(

Smaller, more convenient, etc.
o snap, keyboard works on 360????
USB keyboards work on both 360 and Wii. (And also for Half-Life 1 on the PS2!)

I went to Radio Shack yesterday and noticed those deals. They also had God of War II for PS2 for $14.99. I don't know if that's a deal or not. I would have picked up that Messenger Kit if I had not already recieved it on Christmas.

Interesting. I'll have to check it out later today. I just checked out their website and they're still selling it for $40 there.

Nice point.

I'm glad you folks talked about wireless keyboards and the 360, i have sitting in my extras box. My wife will be thrilled to have something else in the living room, with the tablemate/Logitech DriveFx and the GHIII les paul...

I'll have to buy her some jewelry

Wow, first time in years I've heard someone mention Half-Life on the PS2. Is the keyboard used for control in place of the controller, like a PC FPS? Because at first I was thinking chat, and I don't recall any chat or other need for text entry in HL on PS2 (it was well before online).

Are you sure? GoW II, not the original? I was just there on Sunday, I think, looking at the games section and I'm sure I would have noticed that deal. If true, it merits its own thread.

Update: I see Radioshack.com is showing God of War II at $39.99 and God of War (original) on sale for $14.99. I'm even more inclined to believe that GoW II at $14.99 is either a labeling error by that particular store, or the poster got it wrong. My local store says GoW II scans at $39.99.

A lot of keyboards including my PS3 wireless logitech keyboard (RF USB dongle edition) are featherweights I just have it resting on my lap as I sit down typing on it. I hate the idea of the messenger kit since I dislike cellphone texting and I think a 29.99 piece of text input hardware (got it at a amazon DOTD) thats universally compatible is better than paying for a 24.99 for a propritary text input hardware.

You still don't get the point. His needs are space and weight. The average keyboard is heavier and takes up more space. You can't save space having an extra keyboard. I certainly don't have space for a 2nd keyboard in my bedroom and would prefer the messenger kit.

I couldn't care less what you want to do with your own money, but don't you think some of you people are getting little over dramatic? "Lug" around a keyboard? It takes up "extra" space? What kind of keyboard do you folks use to input data? Unless you live in a bathroom closet, I don't honestly see how you can't find room for a keyboard.

Maybe they just don't need/want to have even more shit piled in with the Rock Band/ Guitar Hero/ Etc. they already have. Get over it.
Some deals I came across today when I was in a Radioshack. Looks like you can do online as well.

Xbox 360 Call of Duty 4: 24.99

Xbox 360 Live Messenger Kit

The deals are not mind blowing, but it is something at least. :)
wait wait wait...was the 360 cod4 REALLY 24.99? or was that a typo. if the first, im going into a fetal position and start crying.

Lol, funny how we all missed that in this thread. $24.99 for COD4 360 *would* be a mind-blowing deal. Unfortunately, the website link says it's $49.99. For the moment, I'm chalking this up with that GoW II $14.99 report as either a one-store fluke or operator error.
Wow, one internet tough guy...coming right up!
Sweet! I've parused the internets for years and you are the first to address me as such! Thanks!

On-Topic: For those that need a new mic, as I did, the Messenger kit is a decent enough deal.

Average keyboard size? 11+ inches. Size of the Messenger keypad? 4 and a half inches. Winner?: Messenger Keypad. I also don't have to put down the controller to pick up a keyboard just to send a quick msg. Plus when I'm all done with my gaming sessions I just have to put my controller down on my 360. I have enough crap in my media center. Don't need more stuff by it.

That's more the point. I have a wired USB keyboard I could easily use, but if I really wanted to type messages faster, this is what I would buy.

Fixed. It was a typo. Sorry about that. :)

I purchased the chatpad when there was a deal for 15 dollars and it serves its purpose. I sit back about 15 feet from my screen (i have a 92 inch projector) and I dont want wires going all across the floor. The chatpad fits right into the controller and doesnt distract me during gameplay. I dont have to have it sitting on my lap and I just hit the little messanger icon button and it brings up the box for me to chat with. Its a very convenient little device and Im glad I picked it up. But I would only suggest getting it if you have the spare cash and dont mind chatting during gameplay.

ehmm, we're talking about wireless keyboards.

Anyways, let's not beat this to death... I like the full sized keyboard because it's what I'm used to, and can type more efficiency on the the full sized version... and then I just slip it under the couch where I sit to play. If you like the smaller messenger unit, that's wonderful.

"Can't we all just get along :p "

Anyways, I did appreciate the conversation because I hadn't thought of using the extra keyboard I had.

Whew! You're gonna give a gal a heart attack mistyping like that mister!
