I'm afraid that wouldn't help you here.

To my knowledge, you have to meet one of two conditions to be raptured: either be under a certain age, or accept Jesus as your saviour. Hell, there are probably variations that don't even have the age cut-off. But, uh, yeah, baptism doesn't do it. Faith in Jesus or no sale.
 
I can't believe people take religion and mystical beliefs seriously. Just wow. Feel so bad for people :(

To an island getaway to sip pina coladas for the rest of his life. Which will be about three months from now, four if he asks for no salt. There were huge grains of salt!

The dude seems to have honestly believed it, and he's not going to be able to explain why it didn't happen (he'll probably come up with something eventually). Obviously the money was spent on ads, they're not free. I don't think this was a money grab, just more mistaken believers the same as the hundreds of other times they've predicted similar things.
 
Well I don't want them to die, but it would be nice if they learned from it and decided that they would be more skeptical in the future. This likely won't happen though.
 
This makes me more convinced/believe religious people are like people that rice out their car. They don't know it's bad because they are just Taste Challenged to start with. Other wise they could at leave come up with some kind of answer other than "I don't know, I have to figure out what happened".
 
Shit I feel bad for those that genuinely believed this was going to happen. I mean they committed themselves to this and built their entire belief system around it, many even invested tons of money in to it thinking they were helping other people. Now in a single day they find themselves facing a new world with everything they believed shattered and their bank account drained.

I hate religion and I hate it with a passion. I think it makes men do the stupidest of things and corrupts humans faster then anything else. That however does not mean I hate the sheep that are lead to slaughter.

The guy is an idiot. Christians do not want to see their fellow man fall to the "rapture", which is why it is a Christians duty to spread the word of God, to make believers out of people. Whether you believe it or not, to take a "they want all non christians to die" approach is insincere, untrue, and overall retarded.

Also for all the people spouting their mouths off, what would you call people who want all muslims to die or even just go away? Cue the "its not the same thing!!!"

In that case, those "good" Christians aren't doing enough to speak out against those extremists. That must mean they tacitly approve of them.
 
You "guys" (Christians) should've made up a better "story" if you wanted to "spread the word of god" to make more believers. A shred of sanity in it would've helped too...

Also, telling someone straight up if you don't believe in god you're going to hell isn't going to motivate someone to join... (I was in a youth group a very long time ago that did that, last time I went to one of those...)

Wow you really miss the point. The point is not that Christians WANT people to suffer in the rapture, yes you want everyone to convert and avoid that pain...the issue is that you want the rapture itself to happen regardless of the pain it will cause other people. Its also the point of what kind of sick person would worship a God that would let that happen. I have people all the time think that I dont believe in god because of the things I say about "him". Truth is its not that I dont believe in god(I am agnostic)its that I dont believe in the possibility of a good nature/caring god(at least not one thats aware of us, the possibility of a "god" that created us then moved on is possible.

So sorry Knoll your point is pretty moot. Your still a sick fuck if you sit around worshiping a god that plans to punish and kill people just for not believing in him or following a set of silly rules.

O and your Muslim point is def not the same thing. The same thing would be saying its ok for Muslims to believe in a God that would do the same thing just to non believers of their faith. Actually sadly that stuff does work. I went to a Baptist school for a few years where we were forced to go to Chapel a few times a week. Once a year they would pull this stunt where they would ask if anyone was not saved, of course no one raised their hand. So they would then have everyone close their eyes to say prayer, at that point they would say a prayer asking for God to bring the lost to the church. That if any of us were unsaved to raise our hands, that everyone's eyes including the preacher and the teachers would be closed and that it would be between them and God. It would be your admitting you want to be saved and opening up the communications with god.

I dont know what the fuck possessed me(The spirit of GAWD!)but I raised my hand....sure enough the very next class me and another student were pulled aside by a teacher. He brought us to the locker room of all places and then he and the principle began a long process to convert the two of us preaching about hell and being saved from it. I went a long with it and even bought in to it for a few months(man did I buy in to it, yelling at friends for cussing and singing amazing grace randomly)before reality slapped me in the face and I came to my senses and went back to normal ;)

Sadly though the convert for the other kid held for much longer. This happened when we were in 7th grade and when I saw him later around the time I was 20 or so he was a hardcore Christian that carried his bible everywhere with him and was trying to break in to the Gospel music scene.

It shows that while that stuff is asinine and while it is wrong...that shit can work! You just have to get them when their young and naive, in a place of desperation or go after the stupid.

I did a weekend school when I was young (don't remember too long ago and I blocked it), I hated it to all hell. It was either this bull fucking shit or get in trouble some how some way at home. You really need to study religion if you want to participate. Especially the part in which you believe islam does not have an end game similiar to most other abrahamic religions.

If the whole islamophobia didn't smack of racism you might have a point, but Christian/European/American interests have manipulated and oppressed the region for decades in it's respective names.
