Rare PS2 and GC games

Anybody know of any good, lesser-known PS2 or GC games that I should pick up. I'm mostly an action and RPG fan, and I have a special place in my heart for ninjas and big robots!

My GC collection is too large to really list here...I'm pretty sure I got most of my bases covered there. However, my PS2 collection is far from complete. So far I have:

-MGS 2: SoL
-Tenchu 3
-ZoE 2
-Robot Alchemic Drive
-Ico
-Devil May Cry
-The Getaway
-FFX

Any suggestions for either of these systems would be helpful...price isn't much of an object either, I'd just like some others to chime in. Keep in mind that I have heard of the great majority of games, so I don't need to hear about GTA3 or .hack or Xenogears or anything that common.

NCAA Basketball 2k3 is one of the rarest game of this current generation. The version in question is for the GameCube. Sega Sports pulled production of this great game, and there is only a very liimited release out there.

Also, Checkout Toysrus store (Instore deal) Buy 1 get 1 FREE (you find most good games for good price) :)

Also, Gran Tursimo 4 coming soon in Summer :)

The Getaway, Xenosaga, Tenchu, Devil May Cry 2, Dynasty warriors 3 is $15 after $5 off BB GGGC

go go hypergrind GC
skies of arcadia GC
burnout 2 GC [not rare, but a classic]
cubivore GC
gotcha force GC

on a side note. NCAA 2k3 cant be that rare, they are selling new copies at EB for 15 bucks. but then i dont play any sport games unless you call racing a sport.

Well this game is out of print. I have seen this game go up to $70 on ebay.

Thanks for the help guys...by the way, I do own Burnout 2 for GC, and I have the original Skies of Arcadia for DC (awesome game, easily my favorite RPG of all time).

Fatal Frame, Disagea(sp?), Shadow Hearts(greta RPG), Harvest Moon(PS2), I think Lifeline will be in that category, Xenosaga, Sukoiden 3. These are all great games imo.

Culdcept is the bomb yo. Super rare though - I had to call around to 4 stores only to find that only ONE store had exactly ONE copy.

That's the football game, the basketball NCAA 2K3 is the rare game

thanks for the heads up yoshi......

but i think i know the difference between B-ball and football.

i dont have a broken flower pot on my head. at least the last time i checked

I know that Cubivore had a limited run and the game did not sell very well, but by no means is the game difficult to find. In fact, our friend Defender is selling copies for under $40.....

So although I thought that Cubivore was rare, and one day it may be....the demand just isn't there.

By far the best semi-rare games for PS2 are ICO and the stellar REZ get these at any cost. Don't know of too many rare gamecube games just a bunch of good ones like the aformentioned Skies of Arcadia.

is Dynasty Warriors 3 worth the $15, if I'm already considering buying DW 4? from the reviews I've read, I'm not sure if it makes sense to buy DW 3 now, or just wait for DW 4 to drop a bit in price.

I got lucky on that and got it previously owned at ebgames.com one evening... even got to AFF25 it. Box/Manual/et al

Culdcept, Culdcept, Culdcept! This game is incredible and already very hard to find, even tho it only came out in November. Order it direct from Capcom if you have to, but by all means get it.

I'd also add Dual Hearts, Klonoa 2, Sky Gunner, and Disgaea in the semi-rare category. All PS2 games, and all worth the effort of finding them.

I would have to tell you that yes it is definately worth the $15. 3 and 4 are basically the same game, with a few updates to 4, but what sucks about 4 is that each dynasty only has one set of missions, while in 3 each character has his own. I thought replay was much better on 3 because I wanted to play each character to see if they had their own level.

thanks for the reply, I ended up buying it yesterday. after reading a few more reviews and given it's a Koei game, I figured it was a chance worth taking ;)

by the way, thanks Masterkyo, I never would've found this at my Best Buy if you hadn't mentioned it!

I'll throw in another vote for Klonoa 2. I had a bit of a hard time finding it, but it was worth the search. And I know you're looking for lesser known or rarer games, but seeing Ico on your list makes me say you have to pick up Prince of Persia. PoP reminds me a lot of Ico, and it's just too good to miss.

Some other very good games that are not hard to find and can come real cheap are Primal, Rygar, and Beyond Good & Evil. All worth owning.

Again, thanks for all the help guys! I ordered Rygar a couple days ago, so I should be getting that soon. I've had Prince of Persia for GC ever since it came out. I've been looking into picking up Dynasty Warriors, but there are so many versions out I really don't know where to begin (DW 3, DW 4, DW EX). Culdcept is a card-based RPG, if I am correct, and I am not too crazy about those. Primal basically just doesn't look like my cup of tea (it looks a bit like Shadowman for DC, which I bought but could never really get into). I've heard of Klonoa 2, and have also heard of its rarity; I'll look into it!

Oh, and finally, I won't buy Beyond Good and Evil for reasons which are my own...at any price.

I just pickup last copy "KLONOA 2" PS2 for $20 at Walmart yesterday (Take wrong exist & Endup shopped at Walmart).

My BEST BET "Try checkout or CALL your LOCAL WALMART ask they have any copy left" ??

Hmmm I already got Dynasty Warriors 2, DW 3: Extremely Legends, DW4: Extreme Legends but I may Pickup DW 3 & 4 later & Still wondering DW3 & DW 3: EX , DW 4 & DW4: EX are the same game or Not ??

:)

I believe some imports are printed in lower quantities... (shmups in particular)

DoDonpachi DaiOuJu
ESPGaluda
Mushihimesama
All the Psyvariar versions

Definitely Gitaroo Man and Rez (US) are hard to find, even on ebay.
Sky Gunner and Klonoa 2 took me a while to find. I heard that Forever Kingdom was semi-rare.

A lot of people on different message boards are resurrecting old topics for halloween...

Yay nostalgia.

Wow... I don't know if the OP still cares that much... I mean, he posted more than a year and a half ago...
