Ratatouille - Who saw it over the weekend?

As a huge Pixar fan I cannot wait to see this movie, they have yet to let me down but I gotta say my favourite film from them is Toy Story. Untouchable classic.

OK, I saw it over the weekend (Saturday 12:15 PM). The theater was filled with little kids but I expected as much since I brought mine with me too. I really liked the movie. It wasn't as obviously kid-centric as most of the other Pixar mivies have been which was a nice change of pace. I thought the story was fantastic and the last 15 minutes were simply perfect. I don't really know where it ranks against all of the Pixar movies and I won't know until I've watched the DVD a bunch of times but I enjoyed what I saw.

I saw it over the weekend with my son. He liked it. I found it kinda boring; I actually nodded off for a few moments. My favorite part was the Transformers trailer before the movie.

I agree completely. The end just put a smile on my face for some reason. These guys are noticeably above their peers, in animation and storytelling. Pixar movies have heart.

I saw it with a group of people this Saturday - one of them was actually worked at Pixar (He does some of the lighting in that movie). Anyways, he told me some interesting things about this film.

- Some of the receipes were taken from the chief at a restuarant called the "French Laundry" which is the only five-star French restuarant in the bay area.

- There was one mistake in the film. The film had American rolling pins (rolling pins with handles) when they should of used French rolling pins (rolling pins without handles; They are a one-piece cylinder). Someone pointed out that mistake after all the animation was done so they couldn't go back and fix it.

Anyways, I loved the film. Pixar rocks!!

That's some interesting stuff - the rolling pin thing is something I never would have noticed even watching it 100 times.

Saw it Saturday. Awesome movie (up there with Toy Story and Monsters Inc.-followed by Finding Nemo, The Incredibles and so forth). No bad Pixar movies yet IMO.
"I was dissapointed in The Incredibles."
Wow. Not gonna belittle your opinion, but that's maybe the 2nd time I've ever heard something negative about that movie.

I'm trying to figure out a nice place to eat after Ratatouille... I figure all that food on screen will make me hungry
I have to agree with him, The Incredibles was fairly boring. The only Pixar movies I've liked were Toy Story and Monsters Inc. the rest are just meh..

Hate out of the way... I plan on seeing it.

I saw it over the weekend as well, my girlfriend and I really enjoyed it. My only complaint is that at one point in the movie I thought they focused too much on Linguini (whom I just didn't care much for) I just would of rather of seen more of Remy in those scenes.

But other than that, it really is a terrific movie.
I know it wasnt a Brad Bird idea, but it was something that he put himself completely into.

On a side note... I hope to god that Pixar and Miyazaki team up at some point.
A Miyazaki film done by Pixar and released by Disney. Animation wet dream.
I hope Miyazaki never goes 3D. Just as fervently, I hope that Disney goes back to 2D. 3D has ruined cartoons (for the most part - I've loved all of Pixar's movies except for Cars and Monsters, Inc [I actually only liked that one]; there are a few more exceptions).

Probably the best movie I've seen this year so far. I saw it all with family members older than I am and they liked it as well. Soundtrack wasn't quite as good as The Incredibles but still great.

I agree. The only other movie that stands ground to this is 300. Odd to say since they are so different...

Disney Is going back to 2-d (thank god).

I love Miyazaki, and I dont want to see him "switch" to 3-d, but i like the idea in the same way I would like Pixar to do a 2-d (or even live action/cg mix) film
