Ratchet & Clank Future: Quest for Booty - $14.99 - 8/21

KingBroly

CAGiversary!
It's official...I guess. Ratchet & Clank Future: Quest for Booty has been rated Everyone 10+ by the ESRB for the PS3. I guess we'll see this at E3...hopefully. I wonder though if it's an expansion of Tools of Destruction or something entirely new.

Sony Press Event Update:
Cost: $14.99
Coming: This Summer

What is it? Ratchet & Clank Future: Quest for Booty is a continuation of the Ratchet and Clank Future storyline, which is supposed to serve as one (maybe only) link between main games in the series.

Wouldn't a rating mean that the game is pretty much complete? If so I'd imagine it's an expansion, that or they are really fast.

Yeah, I remember another sheet that revealed it. I believe it's PSN related, but we'll see.

Linger in Shadows was also rated by the ESRB.org.

If there is multi-player R&C with clan support, I WILL be the leader at CAG.

Didn't they release a new R&C title about every year for the PS2? They don't really create new engines game to game, so it's probably fairly easy and quick to develop these games, and I imagine work began on a sequel long before the first one released.
Sounds like it should be rated AO
Well, all of the R&C games have "suggestive" names if you think about it lol.

Yeah hopefully this will be a multiplayer add-on for Future ToD

Can't wait for the game, be it an expansion or an entirely new game. I love me some Ratchet.

DAYUM.
Ratchet and Clank is actually my favourite franchise EVARZ.
A multiplayer PSN game would be superb. I'd buy it the second I'd see it and play it like crazy.
Can't wait for whatever it is.

Hell, sign me up either way. I wouldn't be shocked if it were a new title since Insomniac used to release one a year. I'd be fine with an expansion or PSN game as well. More R&C = Always a good thing!!!!

Yep. Insomniac can release them as quickly as they want since all the Ratchet games are great.

Ratchet=awesome.

Ya, EGM had a thing about this in there rumor section a while ago. Saying that a R&C expansion pack was going to come out through PSN. Hopefully trophy support in implemented. This gives me a reason to go rent R&C again.

The trailer's in the PS Store now and it was just on GameSpot's Live E3 show, so they spilled a few new details:

- 3-4 hours of gameplay
- Coming out later this summer
- $14.99
- Continues where Tools of Destruction left off and is a real Ratchet game in every way.

I never owned a PS2, but just bought a 80 gig ps3...is this series worth going back to the ps2 generation to play?...or should I jump right in with the PS3 game?--I can pick it up with the 25% off coupon at gamestop this week...

I guess the price is ok. 4 hours of gameplay isn't too long but whatever. I'm buying it.

Is this supposed to wrap up ToD or just add a little extra story to it?

I'd recommend the first one. It was pretty solid. The follow ups pretty much just added small upgrades. The PS3 one is a great action-platformer imo though.
The cliff hanger of Tools of Destruction has left me sleepless many nights.
Funniest thing I've read in a long time.

My favorite PS2 version was Up Your Arsenal, but I'd go ahead and just get the PS3 version as long as you're outfitted with an HDTV. IMO you it's hard to play multiple Ratchet & Clank games back-to-back since they're so similar.

Well considering the fact that I bought a PS3 specifically for Ratchet and Clank..... done deal...

Agreed. I'll just add that R&C: UYA looks fantastic when played on the PS3 and is almost as good as R&C: ToD in the humor, puzzle, and action department.

R&C: GC has its moments, but I hated many parts of it (racing, giant clank, and especially the space battles). I can't recommend that one.
