Is there any type of communication tool used with the people you play with?

I got the hard drive today in a trade and wanna hook it up and play something and figured RE was a good game to play.

If I need to buy a communicator of any kind would someone tell me as I would like to go and get it tonight
 
No, you can use a keyboard in the lobby, but for in game, you "talk" with the other players using preset phrases triggered by pushing a direction with the right analog stick. Which is good, as I wouldn't want to have to listen to all the punks cursing and trying to be funny while I'm trying to survive the horror.
 
So as of right now all I need is a keyboard for FFXI and RE:Outbreak if I wanna talk in the lobby?

Hopefully I can snag a used one at Gamestop later tonight
 
You'll definitely want a USB keyboard if you want to chat in the lobby, it's the only way to set-up battle plans with other players.

Oh by the way, nice trade on the HDD. Outbreak is a million times better with the HDD assisting on the load times.
 
Yeah, even then the lobbies in RE are kinda lame. Remined me of an AOL chatroom with people hitting on each other. Then again, I've been in the lobby one time. Anyway, the game itself is pretty cool. I got a usb keyboard for $20 at EB. Works, great, that's about the standard price for one. You only need a communicator if you plan on playing SOCOM 2 or Syphon Filter (I think it supports it). Most PS2 online games it's not really necessary.
 
yea thats why I wanted to get it. I traded all the Rogue Squadron games on the GCN, Zelda WW and 7.50 for it.

I figured it was a good deal for me seeing as I have been wanting to play RE

aside from that I am totally pleased with the trade

BTW Casey, smart move! :D I, too bought the HDD for RE:O. I loooooooooooooove it to death, and although people have critcized me for buying the overpriced periphial (How the heck does one spell that anyway?) for just a more pleasent experience in the game...well...for this game, it's damned worth it. FFXI was just a nice free bounus =)

once I get good I will probably start playing online. So far I really like the game, I am probably gonna buy it in the next week or two from EB used with that 30 percent off coupon.
