RE5 $25, L4D $25, F.E.A.R 2 $15 (PS3/360 - USED) at Gamefly and more
Hindsight is 20/20....I had already submitted it...don't think I can edit titles.

Nevermind...I went Advanced :)
Yay Newbie is learning!
Thanks for sharing the deals.

If you made the thread, you can also double click around the title in the thread listing and change it right there ;)

Pretty good PS3 deals.

RE5 is a steal at that price and is tons 'o fun indeed. Hate how Fallout 3 is keeping its price so high still, game has been out a lot longer then RE5!

Interesting. I actually have the 360 RE5 on its way to me right now, and it looks like its also $25 to keep. I'll try it and see what I think.

Can anyone who's kept something from Gamefly before tell me: They send you the case/manual complete, right?

Yes, dead mint too!

Yeah, the cases and manuals are perfect. I have gotten a crap condition game though before. By the time I got around to playing it. The return policy had passed long ago.

Yes, and everything is in perfect shape because even though they are previously rental copies, the manual/case aren't sent to the renter. They keep that until they sell it.

I have RE5 for the 360 rented out from GF at the moment. I need to play it, and see if it's worth $25 to go ahead and keep.

Any recommendations from anyone other than RE5 in the new sale? I've got a $5 new subscriber coupon that expires in a couple days, but I don't really want RE5. I've already got so many shooters, and I didn't like the demo. Is Mortal Kombat vs. DC any good?
L4D had a price drop to 29.99.
I think it's the same price new now. Amazon has it for $27.99 at the moment.

Resident Evil 5 is not worth it even at this discounted price IMHO. The game has great graphics with game play stuck in the early days of gaming. It feels like all they did was take old gaming conventions (hit boss in bright spot) and adds stuff that doesn't make sense, ie you have to shoot the chainsaw guy to daze him so that you can then punch him to death. Let me get this straight, I have to shoot someone to daze him but somehow I have magical punches that do more damage than a f*cking Bullet? Really??? Add to that horrible dialog, a ridiculous story (I know, all RE games have been ridiculous) and an ungodly amount of tentacle monsters (you know it's from Japan if it's got tentacles) and you've got a very boring game. Save your money or better yet, play it quickly and sell it to amazon for some decent credit.

Hope I can save some people time and money.

You can punch the chainsaw guy to death??

I wish I'd known that before I pumped 30 shotgun rounds into his head and exploded every barrel in the area, then STILL needed to use a clip from the sniper to finish him off.

What I hate about RE5 is that the bosses all have some obnoxious inexplicable way to kill them OR they can be shot to death but have an enormous amount of health. So you either need to check a guide, be clairvoyant, or use every single weapon you've got on it to win.

Sometimes you get bonus items for using guns rather than a trick, but it isn't worth it when that item is worth only 5000$ and you just wasted all your ammo, which you can't purchase.

Plus it feels a lot like RE4.

Still worth a rent though.

I'd totally buy this game for $25 if I had any money. Also, even though it's only $2, I'm mad I just bought L4D from Amazon for $29.99 two days ago.

I totaly agree with you, this game has the worst action game story of all time. I hate the gameplay, but the graphics are nice.

There's something called suspension of disbelief. It's a valid way to make the game-mechanic more fluid, making it less of just a shooting game. If enough people find that as breaking their immersion, then I'd agree that its taken too far. I believe its pretty popular, however, so that's probably not the case.

The game is pretty fun to play cooperatively. I enjoyed it much, especially with the limited number of Cooperative games on the 360 or any other consoles. ^^

Thanks, OP. I ordered one of these.

Just received my copy of Resident Evil 5 for the PS3 and the disc is perfect along with the case, manual, and paperwork.

It couldn't be in better condition unless it came with plastic wrap.

Fallout & Killzone are available again for $34.99
geez...how 'bout some cheese and crackers to go with that whine?
I'm sorry, are you lost?

Sub $20 is not far behind with 4th quarter staring us down... I can continue to wait given the backlog. Wish some of the other used games would end up with free shipping...

Not *quite* a deal but if you rent Dragon Quest V, the "keep it" option is $29.99. You could knock it down to just above $20 if you have a $5 discount and the 10% off available. Not as good as finding it at Fry's but a cheaper option than Amazon.

Possibly wrong thread to ask; is gamefly the best game renting service currently available? I think if I can play 2-3 games in a month for $24.00 seems worthwhile... but I never tried any online rental service. Getting sick of driving to blockbuster only to find the movie/game all out. Hows the turnaround time (I live in nor cal), and I have a mailbox out... do games get stolen often from mail boxes?

Gamefly so far has proven to be the best source to buy used game (a little higher priced than buying from an individual seller, but cuts down a lot of other hassles).

It's probably a better deal now that such a great library of games are out. I became a member back when the PS3 launched and stayed a member for a year. I terminated my account and justified XM radio instead. There just weren't enough good games 2 years ago to warrant it.

If I didn't have 50+ PS3 games, a bunch that I haven't played, I'd join again.

I never had an instance of stolen games. Turn around was pretty good, they have added two additional terminals since I left so I would guess they would be better.

I always scour their used games because the case, manual, and disc have always been excellent.
