I like how everyone will assume that it will be easy to find like Halo or GTA CE. The Gears of War 2 CE is getting hard to find, and so is the Soul Calibur IV Premium Edition. Even the RE4 CE for PS2 was hard to find after a while

IS DeepDiscount a good place to order from? I heard bad reviews, that this site is pain in the ass if you want to change or cancel your order. And their customer services is poor.
 
Yea CE and LE are hard to come by. I can't even find a MGS4 CE for reg. price. There were so many copies of GTA4 that those are easy to come by. Don't expect there to be as many copies of RE as GTA 4. You won't find it on clearance at Target. I've seen one RE4 LE and that was months back. Don't know why someone would trade in a LE/CE. At least keep the package. They are LE/CE for a reason. GTA just had more copies made because they knew the game was goin to sell like crazy. RE is popular, but don't expect GTA like proportions. Best bet is to do the power trade at GS.

Gamestop.com lists the same contents for both systems.
 
Contents are alright. Not a big fan of the BS that comes with it. I just want that steel case. All said I believe $80 would be a more justified price. I mean Capcom makes both. SF4 and RE5 should be the same price. I'm not seeing any reason why RE is $10 more.

You're not looking in the right place then. It's only about $40 used on eBay. I know since I sold mine and thought I'd get more.
 
$50 for the bag? That bag is horrible. There is nothing that I can do with it. I heard there was going to be a flash drive. That would of been better since I could use it. This pack doesn't look worth $30 even though I'm still going to buy it (thanks power trade). To be honest SF is a more complete pack for the money. At least you get a blu-ray.

And Gamecrazy is supposed to have an exclusive preorder bonus. Those are the only two I know of. Gamecrazy's has yet to be announced.

Have to say I'm a bit disappointed ... the Japan LE was awesome, the packaging looked more "mature" I guess, with the usb vial drive and shoulder bag type thing ... not really feeling the figurine ... I love CE's with figurines (especially over shirts ...) but it seems like they chose the most uninspired character to use as the figurine. I don't care if he was in the original resident evil .. it's a dude with a gun in fatigues... lame ... boring .. give me a zombie or some new exclusive, unseen character ... oh well, saves me some money
 
Looks decent. I'll bite since RE is among my favorite video game series of all time.

As for trading in LE/CE games to gamestop, I have to agree that it makes no sense. I've picked up 2 spare RE4 in the aluminum tin with art cell and then returned the first game, keeping the goodies. The second, the manager just gave me the goods since someone fudged up and didn't accept disc 2 of the game. Also picked up Gears and Halo 3 LE for like 30 bucks with edge and discount coupons.

It amazes me how stupid people are.

DDD always dents cardboard boxes. Keepcase style plastic cases are usually okay.
 
You can't blame DDD for dent boxes. You blame the shipper, DDD isn't the one delivering it to you.

DDD was good when I last used them couple of years ago. Now, I wouldn't know, but they are a legit store unless they just went downhill from back when I used them.
 
This seems like a pricing mistake, I wonder if they'll honor it regardless. At 80 bucks it makes the CE seem easier to swallow but I still don't know if the stuff is worth that.

I don't think it's a mistake, DDD is typically around $10 cheaper on these LEs. The problem is, shipping can take a while and your game may arrive damaged due to inadequate packing materials.

I don't think so. Its still $90 everywhere else. Just seems odd since DMC4 was $80 at launch and SF4 is going to be $80. They're just going to milk this. RE4 did a good job securing fans. So they probaly are just going to charge an extra $10 for extra profit. Since people are going to buy this. Its real odd that the company themselves are charging $80 for it though.

I see it as some people like there milk straight from the cow. They need to come down on CE prices anyway. There killin me. I've gotten so many CE editions just for the extra crap.
 
In for one (PS3 version) Capcom has been awesome at taking my money lately. Now my Ryu figure has someone to play with.

Is the US & EU collector's edition the only versions out there with the steel book? I know Asia CE version gets the box like MGS4 did with a regular copy of the game. I can't tell what the JPN version has...

I ordered on Jan. 16th, it's kinda funny since the game doesn't release for another month, and they say they're gonna re-stock within 21 days...

I actually re-checked my email and spam and found an email stating the same, and edited my previous post. Maybe it was a canned email for selling over an alloted amount.

They fucked up on the SF4 shipment, but lots of places were screwed up with that crappy release. I'm just hoping they get it right with RE5, but if you can wait a lil bit. it'll be worth it
 
Actually am cancelling my RE5 CE. Got it for 4$ cheaper at buy.com because of the 5$ off coupon for new customers.

Actually they didn't. I know the Street Fighter 4 Deep Discount thread was closed for some reason, but since that time my order has actually shipped, and I suspect everyone elses has too. They took a little long, but they came through in the end.
