The beloved cartoony arcade boxing franchise makes it's triumphant return next year Atari announces Ready 2 Rumble Revolution for the Nintendo Wii

Developed by famed wrestling developer AKI and produced by Stereo Mode, Ready 2 Rumble Revolution features 18 "wildly caricatured cartoony boxers" based on celebrities from movies, music, and sports. Players will be able to brutally beat these caricatures in a way that's sure to be amusing and light-hearted for all involved. Revolution will make full use of the Wii control system, meaning it's most likely going to play exactly like every other boxing game that's been attempted on the system, which isn't necessarily a bad thing.
The series has typically featured mini-games to train your boxer like pill popping and weight lifting, as well as celebrity cameos like Michael Jackson and Hillary Clinton. They've been replaced in R2RR by David Beckham, Brad Pitt and John Travolta. Go figure.

GameInformer reviewed this in the latest issue with Bioshock 2 on the cover.

...they gave it a 1.

Let that sink in for a second. GameInformer, the most lenient magazine on reviews.. gave it a 1.

Though in the 'Second Opinion' column, they gave it a 3.5.
I think that's the biggest disparity I've seen between the two scores ever, too.
Same here. I've never seen more than one full point.

The biggest complaint was that the fighting motions are too similar. You're supposed to pull back then punch forward to do a hard hit, but pulling back does a weak punch.
Wow, a one from Game Informer. That's the same as Gamespot displaying their score as "-2993492929392error"

HAHA!
Please have working boxing controls ...
You might want to check out Don King Boxing later this month for that wish.
Let that sink in for a second. GameInformer, the most lenient magazine on reviews.. gave it a 1.
Statistically speaking, according to GameStats and GameRankings, GameInformer is the second-most lenient US gaming print magazine out there. GamePro is the most lenient.

Anyways, more reviews at Gamerankings:
Nintendo Power 5/10
Gamestm 4/10
IGN 3.5/10
GameInformer 1/10 & 3.5/10

All of them say the same thing about the controls: Terrible. It also sounds the Create-a-Character/Career mode is supposed to be good (In theory, at least; what the controls don't screw up), but that is to be expected since the developer is AKI of WWF No Mercy.
