Real life Master Chief armor?

Darpa has developed a prototype exoskeleton, ideally for soldiers. The highlights:

Enables user to easily carry 220lb load

Ability to walk at about 6 feet per second

You'll look awesome wearing one

I half expected a Nightmare armour repost, but this was a good find. Too bad they didn't add a video clip...

An EMP? THey could just shed the armour and take what they need, I guess. The exosuit only fits over the legs, and I'm sure they've made it easy to get out of the thing.

What I was wondering is .. what if you go into deep mud or fall into a body of water while you're carrying something 200lbs?

Yeah those blokes look like total losers wearing that.

Right now that contraption kinda looks like a pair of robotic chaps. They need some kinda Death Metal-looking medieval helmet and armor added in to strike fear into the hearts of foes. Doesn't really intimidate as it stands, unless it makes some cool evil robot sound effects when you walk.

The suit is water resistant and will float, according to its inventors.

but I think they'd be screwed in mud or swamps or anywhere with soft ground, because the weighs still 200 pounds, even if it feels like less to them
