Is there a program or something to use to take screenshots or record video from games with the NDS Lite? Stuff like what IGN puts on their site. They have direct feed videos of gameplay and such in their media section...was just wondering how do they do that?

I wanted to record the castlevania portrait of ruin intro video

You can't do that without using the devkit. If you watch ign (or gamespot, I can't remember the source) gameplay video of Zelda:pH, you'll see the guys from nintendo using this kind of equipment. I believe it's a GBA cartridge extension with video-output cable, and you can also see this kind of equipment used in many game exhibitions to display the ds's output on TV screen.

For home consumer like us, I think our best bet is a decent video camera.

i had a engineer friend look at a spare DS to try to split the video signal to go to another source, but the voltage was too weak without using additional equipment. that was so someone else can see (on say a LCD monitor) what you're playing on your DS so the video signal had to be split.

actually i was thinking that to record you wouldn't need to split the signal, but actually you would also. so you'd run into the same problem heh
