Red Dead Redemption Control Issues

Can someone please help me? I'm playing Red Dead Redemption and I can't for the life of me put away my gun. I'm beginning to wonder if my controller is broken. The manual says L1, but that only works 1/100 times. I keep walking around town scaring the crap out of people because my gun is out.

Have you tried reloading to a previous save? And if so, does it continue to do that?

I have tried that and still have the issue.

I feel like the problem has to do with the order of things that I'm doing. He keeps aiming the gun. When I press L2 to zoom out it goes right back to zooming in. It's freaking weird.

It's working now. My controller was just bugging out.
