Dunno if anyone missed it in the main deals forum, but starting this past Sunday, TRU had a deal on the Mario Kart DS bundle: Buy the bundle and get Ultimate Spiderman and the Intec Pro Gamer's Case for free.

Well TRU is sold out everywhere, but you can take the ad and pricematch it at Best Buy and get Ultimate Spiderman ($39.99) and the Pro Gamer's Case ($29.99) for free. Check their website to find a store that has all three in stock.

I did the deal yesterday, and today my friend did it.
 
Damn. I went to TRU today, and they were indeed sold out. Didn't have the ad with me, and didn't even think of pricematching. Hope I can get back down to Bloomington to get it soon. (I live about 50 miles away...ugh...)
 
Oh yeah, forgot to mention... if you pricematch at BB, you also get a $10 gift card from their own promotion (NDS or NGC + $29.99 game gets you $10 GC back), so for ~$162, you get: Red DS, Mario Kart game, Ultimate Spiderman game, Pro Gamer's case, and $10 gift card.
 
Btw the $10 GC is not YMMV, the computer will not let the cashier cash out unless they give you the $10 GC. (Mine tried to click 'no' on the 'apply package?' dialog box a few times and her manager told her it was impossible)
 
Does anybody have a scan of the TRU weekly ad? I tried going to the corporate site but it won't let me print it out. I went to my local TRU and not only were they out of Mario Kart DS's but they were also out of weekly ads.
 
I personally took advantage of EB's sale a few weeks back, that when you buy a DS (which includes the MK Bundle), and a $30+ game, you get a thirty dollar gift card. So I got two games (I chose Viewtiful Joe: Double Trouble, and it was amazing) and the system for the price of the system itself on launch. Pretty great.

I had to ask one of the customers in line for her ad and pick another one up from a cashier for my friend. You could try buying (last) Sunday's paper at Wal-mart. The Wal-marts in Dallas sell the Sunday paper all week long for some reason. I'd imagine that would have the TRU ad in it.

TRU --- None left...and no rainchecks
Best Buy --- None left
EB --- No red DS anyway...but I knew they wouldn't match the ad
Wal-Mart --- None left
K-Mart --- Had everything, but they wouldn't match
Circuit City --- Had the DS and the game...got those, but they had no kits, so I didn't get one.

So, for $161.XX I got the DS and Ultimate Spider-Man...thanks OP!

Same here.. except I went to Circuit City, and got a matching red carrying case ($15 value?) and got the 110% price match.

So, all in all I made out with $140 :)

Toys R Us in Charlotte, NC had tons of flyers still, but was sold out.

You rock the house. Got my case and Spiderman tonight, no problems. The first manager didn't want to do it, but the second manager said "Suuuuure!" It helps when the customer service rep recognizes you and wants to help you out.

Bad news is that they took my ad, so I can't scan it in. Here it is online, though:

Ok thanks you for the picture. I'll see if I can get this to work. The hard part at this point will probably be finding a Mario Kart Bundle. Most of the BBs and CCs are sold out now.
 
wouldn't this deal be YMMV, since it depends on the cashier? since they pricematch, not deal match. as in they cannot (usually) match particular deals where additional items are being offered and so on.
 
I would say good luck on finding the Mariokart DS bundle for any price. I checked like 6 stores and finally found the last one at one of our crappier EB's.
 
I went out to find a bundle like a week ago.

I live in one of the proud (?) places that can say they have two gamestops across the road from one another.

Strip Mall GS, and Mall GS.

Strip Mall GS is absolutely holiday bombed, they're totally out of it, and they have no Mario Kart Bundles, or DSes, period!

So I somewhat dejectedly checked everywhere else, and nobody had them. I finally went to the Mall GS (I avoided it because the mall is fucking ridiculous during the holidays - seriously.) and saw the place absolutely packed. I hopped in line just before everyone else and managed to secure a reasonable spot, right before a billion other people decided they needed to leave.

So blah blah blah, I go up, and this like 16 year old girl is there as a register monkey. It took her like eight years to validate my cc, but I got one of those glorious suckers.

My advice is call around and check online before trying anywhere.
 
eh ill just check TRU first and buy the first Ds i see. I can take the hit of not saving ten bucks and not getting those stickers and a red ds.
