everyone knows about the crappy little cards u get in new games, but i want to know if anyone has ever sent one in or if anyone has ever got anything back?

I've sent them in before. Most throw you in a contest for a free game at the end of the month, but I've never gotten anything cept a few flyers here and there.

To me sending registration cards is simply asking for junk mail because that's all you'll ever get out of it. Only thing I've ever received from registering a game was a demo of Metal Arms.

Believe it or not, I've actually won a free game via reigstating. I forget what game it was, but it was from way back in the genesis days. I was too young to do it, but my Dad would send them in. A month later, we received a small catelog and a congratulations letter. It was a Gamegear game that we registered, so I could pick from a number of other GG games. I picked Shinobi, if memory serves.

SO DREAMS DO COME TRUE!

i cant believe people actually send them in. and win. but the zelda deal didnt use a registration card, still awsome tho, more companies should do shit like that. like if u buy a few games from a certain company you could register them and they send you a game like activision anthologies or megaman anniversary or something like that

i dont think i've ever sent one in, but i think there was this one time way back in the snes days. i bilieve there was a free nintendo mag offer or something, can't remember too well since i was like 8. i did get the free mag but my dad said he haid to 5 bucks for it.... i think he was just joking though.

The biggest purpose of those cards is marketing. They get your info, and either use it for their demographic research, or market your info to other companies.
Even the ones who offer to give away a game are still ahead--they give away 1 50.00 game, and sell a list each month to marketers for millions.
You don't need to send it in to 'activate your warranty' or anything, at least on video games.
I generally send them in, but I don't give my email address or phone number. I don't mind getting junk in the snail mail, and sometimes it's actually targeted [although somehow PETA got my address...]

I won Fallout 2 from Interplay, Advance Wars from Nintendo, some flight sim from Sierra, and maybe one or two others.

I've also gotten a few promo items from different companies. The only one that comes to mind right now is the Ninja Gaiden novel I got from Tecmo for Christmas one year.

I registered my Gamecube, Gameboy SP, and Mario & Luigi Superstar Saga and Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles only for the Zelda Disc. It did not require a card to send in since I did it online.

I'm going to send in my Disgaea reg card on the 26th so I can get one of those mini art books from Atlus. The only others I've filled out are a few .hack ones.

I used to send them in regularly, but I don't anymore. I never won anything, but I would get game demos in the mail from time to time, that were probably from registering.
