Hey,
The package got here today. The pixel art looks amazing, thanks!
Man, that got there fast, glad to hear that you like it.
Those are all good pieces of pixelart but how about placing them on a background image? Nothing too busy and maybe a background image from the game. Have you ever thought about displaying them as refrigerator magnets?
Definitely take a picture of the Tetris and Space invader magnets, they sound interesting.

Those beads are expensive, just how many figures can you make for $40?
I was planning on doing background images, but I only have a black and white printer. (Yes, I know how bad that sounds) So unless I can print off in color from my work (unlikely) I don't think I'd be able to make background images.
As for magnets, I've made some for myself but have never sold them as magnets before. I'll get pictures of the tetris magnets and the space invaders soon.
For $40, I can order enough beads to make an average of around 45 pixel arts. It depends on the size of the pixel arts of course, but I can usually get around 45 pixels out of $40. The small designs (Little Mario, Slimes) take around 100 beads to make, The medium designs (Black Mage, most FF characters) take around 200-300 beads, and the large sprites (King Slime, Master Shake, Jumbo Cactuar) take around 800-1000 beads.
To get a better estimate of how much it costs to make them, I'll use bvharris' pixels as an example. He ordered 15 FFVI characters for $50 shipped, which averages out to about $3.25 each. Each of the characters probably took around 200 beads, which totals up to about 3,000 beads. 10,000 beads can be bought for around $30, so for easy math we'll say that it cost around $10 for the beads to make his FFVI characters. Shipping for his package was around $8, although he did have some other stuff mixed in, so usually shipping for an order of his size would be about $5. So the cost for the materials and to ship out the beads was about $15, which means I got around $35 profit. It took me about 7 hours spread over a week and a half to make all of this beads, which would average out to me getting payed about $5 an hour to make pixel arts.
Sorry if that was kinda rambling and pointless, I'm a little drunk and i had nothing better to do.
Cecil from FFV would be awesome. Or Chrono/Magus... Hell, anything from SNES era Square would be splendid!
I've been trying to get the colors down for a Chrono for a long time now, everytime I try to make one he ends up looking like a multi-colored blob. I might give it another try though, I'm sure it would be a pretty popular pixel art. And I'll probably do a Frog from Chrono Trigger as well.
I'll look into some of the other old FF games as well, any other characters you would like to see aside from Cecil?
