Free bump...

I'll try and leave feed back as soon as possible but Bioshock 2 comes out on Steam tonight so I might not be on CAG for a few Days ;)

bump. Glad to hear you're making progress on the pixel art.. Can you send me a pic at some point so I can see how they're going? :D

Bioshock 2 is awesome! :bouncy:, I have to get used to the multiplayer though I kept dying because of those stupid turrets :bomb:

Don't worry about shipping my stuff now, I saw on the news how bad it is back there ;). Hopefully you get a break from the extreme cold weather soon.
hey do you by chance have a DC#? I haven't seen the package yet and figured it should be here by now.
It should be there by now actually, The DC number should be at work so the next time I go in I'll look for it.
hey do you by chance have a DC#? I haven't seen the package yet and figured it should be here by now.
I don't have a DC# for you yet, but I figured I would let you know that it's probably taking longer due to the snow storm. Mail didn't run yesterday or today here, so it might take your package a little while longer to get to you. Hopefully it will show up tomorrow or Saturday.
Ok thanks for the update :D

I am not worried just was like huh... it should be here by now! Yeah the weather fuckered up everything.
Yeah, Damn Mother Nature fucked up my plans for this weekend, fuck you mother nature and your snowstorm!
Anyway, it should be there in a few more days, let me know when you get it.
Cml for thease and could you make a gears of war crimson omen pixle art
A Gears of War Symbol is totally do-able, I'll get you pics of what it would look like later on tonight or tomorrow.
Thanks for the update, I will definitely enjoy seeing what a pixelart Samus looks like ;)
It will look like awesomeness.

What happened to the pretty redheaded avatar, and Nibiru?
I started watching Firefly again, so I had to change my avatar to Jewel Staite. Don't worry, I'll bring back the Felicia Day avatar in a few weeks.
As for my location, I've been on Nibiru since I signed up on CAG, so I figured it was time to move to a new location. I wonder how many people know where I got Glornak 7 from? For that matter, I wonder how many people got the Nibiru reference?
I also changed my title from "has a shitty title" to "Sex Tornado"

My God...I would twixt those nethers of hers. :D

That's ok, I was just curious about the avatar change since you've always had the same redhead .

As far as Nibiru goes I figure you either played the game or had heard the alternate name for Planet X ;). I think Glornak 7 was from Scrubs right?

I don't know why, but that made me laugh for about a minute straight.

I haven't always had Felicia Day, for about a week I had an avatar of Ellie Kemper, and then I quickly changed it back to Felicia Day.

And Yes, Nibiru was inspired by a friend of mine who thinks a bunch of lizard men are going to enslave us for gold. I make fun of him constantly for it and even gave him the nibiru pc game for a christmas present as a joke. I'm surprised you got the Glornak 7 reference since it was only mentioned in scrubs once. I guess I need to come up with more obscure references.
Anybody know where I got my title from? Free prize if anybody can guess!!

I must have missed the Ellie Kemper Avatar ;).That's awesome, have you seen that old footage from silent films of Planet X and the one where the Moon is made of cheese?

I happened to see that Scrubs episode:lol: I only watch it with my older brother since he loved that show I've probably only seen a handful of episodes . I have no idea about the title is it from a TV show, a movie, or a game?

I think my next avatar will be Amy Adams, either her or jenna fischer.
And yes, I remember watching the old Cheese moon movie, I actually might have to look some of those up again, wonder if there up on youtube?
I just started re-watching my old seasons of Scrubs, and thought that Glornak 7 sounded like a great place to move to.
My title came from a movie. I was originally going to have my title be analrapist, but I figured it might be misunderstood.

I vote Jenna Fischer :D, there are some old movies on Youtube but I usually watch them on Google videos, I just watched Empire of the Ants a few days ago:cool:

I've seen funny misspellings of therapist but not analrapist, I'm sure it would result in some comments .

Jenna Fischer it is, I've been waiting a long time to post this picture:
i-jenna-fischer-12.jpg

I remember Empire of the Ants as well, the ants would randomly start walking up the air in the middle of the scene. I was like six the first time I saw it and I got scared shitless, I fuckin hate bugs.
Analrapist is an Arrested Development reference, its the job title for the character Tobias Funke.

I received my guides and pixelart today! Thanks for the glow in the dark boo and huge Samus :)
Great, glad to hear that you like it, hope you come by for my next lowball and bid on some more. :D
I'll be doing another lowball sale in about a month, so make sure you get in requests now for pixel arts that you would like to see listed in the sale.

I'll definitely participate in your next lowball sale. The only pixelart characters that I can think of would be Samus' ship an actual Metroid and maybe a Space Pirate ;)

I was planning on doing a Metroid, I actually just recently made one for myself and it came out really well, so I'll definently be doing one of those.
I was also thinking about some of the following, would anybody be interested in bidding on any of these:

Link
Any of the Cast from Final Fantasy VI
Castle Crashers knights
An Axe wielding Patapon
Bomberman
Any of the bosses from the many mega man games
Final Fantasy Tactics Advance Juggler moogle
Gears of War Symbol
Transformers Decepticon or Autobot logo
Mario 1-Up mushroom
Domingo from Shining Force
Space Invaders
Characters from Final Fantasy Tactics
Ryu from Ninja Gaiden
Lyn from Fire Emblem
Gir from Invader Zim
Kirby
Earthbound cast (Probably Ness and Mr. Saturn, but any of them would be do-able)

Awesome, I've always loved collecting Metroid stuff ;). I need to start using my old college sculptural ceramics skills again because now I feel inspired to make a Metroid for my computer desk .

Since you're such a huge fan of metroid, why don't you check this out, its a massive bead sprite that someone did. I could never do something that impressive, but I must admit it looks fucking cool.
If you would bid on other metroid things, I'd be happy to find some more sprites to make and put in the next lowball, maybe a ridley sprite?

That sprite is huge I wonder what the artist is going to do with it? That gives me an idea, maybe I should decorate a wall with pixelart in my game room:lol:

Just make sure you buy them all from me. I'd be happy to fill your wall with pixels. :D
I had planned to do every character from Final Fantasy Tactics and put them on my wall, or all of the boxers from Punchout, but I haven't really got around to it yet. I also plan to do a fairly large castle crasher knight in a day or two, I'll put up pics when I finish with it.

EDIT: I figured I would add the list of my possible pixel arts so that it would be on the most recent page. These are all pixel arts that I am thinking about making for my next lowball sale, would anybody be interested in bidding on any of these:

Link
Any of the Cast from Final Fantasy VI
Castle Crashers knights
An Axe wielding Patapon
Half Life Lamda Symbol thinger
Bomberman

Gir from Invader Zim

Earthbound cast (Probably Ness and Mr. Saturn, but any of them would be do-able)

Valkyria Chronicles-New, Sealed
Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2-Complete, Mint, Xbox 360 Version.

Hopefully you get a chance to make a Ridley and Kraid before your next lowball sale, They would make an excellent addition to the Metroid ;). Pixelart looks great as wall art, I put up Samus with double sided tape above the chair rail in my game room .

I'll definently do a Metroid, possibly a Ridley if I could find a suitable sprite. I haven't played metroid in a looooong time, so you'll have to refresh my memory on what a Kraid is.
I've got a few pixels taped to my wall, and they look really nice, I also have a pacman set taped around my entertainment center. It looks sweet, I even made little pellets and everything.
And I took a picture of my most recent pixel arts, made for bvharris, the full cast of Final Fantasy VI:
10-31-09002-3.jpg
I also bought a few more things to add to the lowball sale, I found a copy of Magic pengel for the PS2, a copy of La Pucelle Tactics for the PS2, and the complete series of Firefly on dvd. La pucelle and Magic pengel are both complete, but Firefly was purchased from Blockbuster, so it is in a different case than normal. Pics will be up soon for the lowball things I have so far.
I also found this:
10-31-09003-3.jpg
at blockbuster, I'm tempted to list it in the lowball and see how much I get for it.
Also, thanks to starmask I have a new signature :D

So psyched. :D

I really can't speak highly enough of dbm's pixel art, they're really cool. I'll be offering a bunch I've bought from him in the past as prizes in my lowball. /plug

Awesome, Kraid is the porcupine looking boss that shoots it back spikes at you in the original game. There were only three bosses in the original game: Kraid, Ridley, and the Mother Brain .

I loved the Pacman game but i only played it at an arcade, I actually never owned a copy of that game 8-[. You do make excellent pixelart that all gamers could enjoy, maybe you should try and market it as room decor!
orly, I may be interested in buying that and the Zelda:LttP manual if its in good condition (I have 2 but both are in poor condition :( )
I'll get back to you on the condition of the LTTP manual, it should be fine but its with the rest of my SNES stuff somewhere in my basement, I'll dig it out tomorrow.

It's too bad that more people don't agree with you.

There was a porcupine in Metroid? I don't even remember that. Then again, it has been like 15 years since I've played it.
I think the only real, physical copy of Pac-Man I have is for the Atari 2600. I've got the Pac-man CE on the 360 as well.
I've been trying to market it as anything really, it just seems like no one is interested. I'm trying to work on getting my own website to help get the pixels out there and get more people interested, but with work I haven't really had the chance. fuckin 80 hour work weeks suck.

Kraid isn't a porcupine but he reminds me of one with his back spikes . I used to sell at trade shows and after a while I realized that very few people like to buy art or collectibles because they can't visualize how they are going to use or display it.

My recommendation would be to make some mock-ups of how the items can be used and post pictures of them here or on your future website. Also suggest alternate uses for the artwork ie. gifts, keychains, bookmarks, wall art or anything else that you can think of.

Thats actually a good idea, I might take some new updated pictures before the lowball, Maybe something like this: [IMG-C=5803]10499[/IMG-C]
This is what I have taped to my door, the rest of my pixels are decorating my bookshelf and entertainment center.
Or maybe I should take pictures of my Tetris Magnet set or my Space invaders magnets.
Thanks a lot for the suggestions, I'll get some new pictures up of the pixel arts in a display situation. Hopefully that will incite some more interest.
Unfortunently I am running low on beads after making bv's FFVI arts, anybody need some custom arts done? I need around $40 to order some more beads, anybody wanna buy $40 worth of pixel arts

Those are all good pieces of pixelart but how about placing them on a background image? Nothing too busy and maybe a background image from the game. Have you ever thought about displaying them as refrigerator magnets?

Definitely take a picture of the Tetris and Space invader magnets, they sound interesting. :) Those beads are expensive, just how many figures can you make for $40?
Hey,

The package got here today. The pixel art looks amazing, thanks!
Man, that got there fast, glad to hear that you like it.

I was planning on doing background images, but I only have a black and white printer. (Yes, I know how bad that sounds) So unless I can print off in color from my work (unlikely) I don't think I'd be able to make background images.
As for magnets, I've made some for myself but have never sold them as magnets before. I'll get pictures of the tetris magnets and the space invaders soon.
For $40, I can order enough beads to make an average of around 45 pixel arts. It depends on the size of the pixel arts of course, but I can usually get around 45 pixels out of $40. The small designs (Little Mario, Slimes) take around 100 beads to make, The medium designs (Black Mage, most FF characters) take around 200-300 beads, and the large sprites (King Slime, Master Shake, Jumbo Cactuar) take around 800-1000 beads.

To get a better estimate of how much it costs to make them, I'll use bvharris' pixels as an example. He ordered 15 FFVI characters for $50 shipped, which averages out to about $3.25 each. Each of the characters probably took around 200 beads, which totals up to about 3,000 beads. 10,000 beads can be bought for around $30, so for easy math we'll say that it cost around $10 for the beads to make his FFVI characters. Shipping for his package was around $8, although he did have some other stuff mixed in, so usually shipping for an order of his size would be about $5. So the cost for the materials and to ship out the beads was about $15, which means I got around $35 profit. It took me about 7 hours spread over a week and a half to make all of this beads, which would average out to me getting payed about $5 an hour to make pixel arts.

Sorry if that was kinda rambling and pointless, I'm a little drunk and i had nothing better to do.
Cecil from FFV would be awesome. Or Chrono/Magus... Hell, anything from SNES era Square would be splendid!
I've been trying to get the colors down for a Chrono for a long time now, everytime I try to make one he ends up looking like a multi-colored blob. I might give it another try though, I'm sure it would be a pretty popular pixel art. And I'll probably do a Frog from Chrono Trigger as well.
I'll look into some of the other old FF games as well, any other characters you would like to see aside from Cecil?

Nothing makes a better read than drunken posting . You only have a black and white printer...dang! Well, you could always design it on your computer and then have it printed poster size at a staples or office supply store.

Awesome, I can't wait to see the pictures of your space invader pixelart. $5 an hour profit isn't very much, it's a good thing for us CAG's that you must love making pixelart. If it was me I would either want to charge more or work faster

I would think having it printed at staples or someplace like that would be too expensive for me to make a profit on, but I'll look into it. If it's cheap enough, then I could do it, although the backgrounds would probably be regular size, not posters.

I'll get pictures up of the Space Invaders sometime tomorrow or Tuesday. Don't get too excited about them though, they aren't that great.
I used to charge more, but nobody bought any so I had to lower my prices. And I've tried speeding up the process, but if I do that I end up with some mistakes like in my King Slime pixel. I got the King Slime done in less than an hour, but I made Three mistakes while I was making it.

In other lowball news, I may push the lowball back an extra week or so. Right now I don't really have a lot of items ready to be listed in the lowball, so I'm going to take an extra week or two to find some more stuff to list.
