I know where you're coming from, I recently had an unforeseen expense too. I had a garage sale to raise some quick cash and I might need to have another one soon. I've played most of the Zelda games but it's been so long that I don't really remember Ocarina of Time.

The comic mentions that it was a Nintendo power exclusive so that must be why I have it, I started with issue#2 in the late 1980s and stopped sometime in 1996. I'm trying to free up some shelf space by getting rid of my old magazines not adding to my collection:roll:

The first thing I asked was whether they had finished watching it but apparently they are just a bit more squeamish than I am. I am a biologist and a hunter/fisherman so seeing a small animal in imminent danger of gruesome death hasn't affected me in a long time. I totally forgot that was the name of the site, I use a quick link on my toolbar that says www.cheapass.... After reading so many online posts by people using poor grammar I'm not as careful as I used to be so thanks for pointing it out.
Sadly the money I had to spend was supposed to go for my engagement ring. Looks like I need another $200 bucks or so to be able to afford it now. I'll just have to pick up some extra hours at work and maybe sell a few things on here and I should be fine. The Zelda CE is yours if you want it, just make me an offer. Just curious, but what was your unforeseen expense?
And I'd still be interested in the Killer Instinct comic if you're looking to free up space, as long as it isn't too expensive.
Like I said, I've seen so many terrible things on the internet that nothing offends me. And I will also admit that, for whatever reason, I clicked on that link and was dissapointed that it didn't go anywhere.

Another Three Packages went out today, just two left from my lowball sale!!

The compressor on my refrigerator died and since it's eight years old it's no longer under warranty. I was shocked that to get a ~25 C.F. fridge I would have to spend $800 - $1000. The only good part is that I ended up eating two and a half gallons of very soft ice cream. What happened with the Zelda CE, didn't you like it? I'll scan in the comic and then send it to you when i ship those gba games since you want it;)

What link? I just typed in how it appeared on my quick link bar, I have three folders and 10 links so they are all shortened. For example I also have: Send Money, ..., Help Center - ..., and Browse 'Campai...

Damn, thats one expensive ass fridge. :whistle2:o:fridge:
I didn't really care for Ocarina of Time, or the Wind Waker Demo, and I've already played the two NES Zelda's to death. I didn't even bother trying Majora's Mask, I may have to pop it in and give it one last chance though.
Take your time with shipping the stuff out though, I'm in no hurry to get it.

When you posted it came up as a link for some reason, and I clicked on it expecting something good.
My bookmarks are mostly folders, I've got links to postsecret, escapist magazine, first person tetris, and of course CAG, and My folders are: "Perler Bead Stuff", "Random Junk", and "Happy Time Folder".

I know it's expensive but there aren't any good sales on refrigerator's right now and I really need a larger fridge. Take your time I'm busy trying to finish up a few more games right now because for the first time my percentage of completed games has dropped below 30%

That's weird that it posted as a link, I have 25 folders that are full of bookmarks but I also have a quick link bar for the pages that I visit most often. I keep migrating my bookmarks and haven't really cleaned them up in about 10 years so I have too many bookmarks to count and I'm not even sure how many work:lol:. I do have some really cool bookmarks such as how to make various crystals, links to free music, online e-books and quite a few from my computer science days;)

I actually think 30% is pretty good, last I checked I had completed 8 % of my collection. Thats mainly because I sell or trade any game that I've beaten unless I absolutely love the game or I think I won't be able to find it again. The last game I beat was King's Field for the Playstation One about a month ago. Awesome game btw, one of my favorites on the PS1.
Free Music=LimeWire/MP3 Rocket :D
Personally I prefer MP3 rocket, but either works great. I also use Dirpy to convert Youtube Videos to MP3's if I can't find a certain song anywhere else. What do you use? And is it legal?

My game completion rate is at 23% right now but I like it to be at 30% or higher;)

The free sites I use are for much older books and music so yes they are legal. I don't think copyrights for books that are over 100 years old are valid anymore. I listen to either regular or online radio for current music since I don't like most of it. I have very eclectic tastes so I like books from the 1600s to the middle of last century and I listen to almost all music before 1990.

The last music I bought was The Crow: New Songs for the Five String Banjo by Steve Martin:lol:.Here's an example of one of my links: http://www.foldedspace.org/weblog/2006/06/in_the_good_old_summertime.html
bump.... not sure what i'll do with bioshock LP......
Well, since it's a record, I'd suggest playing it on a record player. Thats what I did with mine, its actually a very good soundtrack. If however you don't have a record player, well then you're shit outta luck. :D

I try to complete new games, but every time I start in on something, I get pulled away by my desires to play an old classic. I'm now on my 38th playthrough of Final Fantasy Tactics, and I am simultanously playing one of my PS1 copies while playing one of my PSP copies. For those that know about FFT, I'm currently going for a solo Ramza Melee run on the PSP version, and a starter equipment run on my PS1 version. Yes I am crazy :D
I'm just amazed people read books anymore, I thought everybody stopped doing that when the internet was invented. :D
I think the last book I read was The Divine Comedy about a year back, and I read a book of Edgar Allen Poe's poems about six months ago. Other than that, the only reading I do is at work or when I read the back of a Video Game or a Movie.
Wow, and I thought I had unusual taste in music. I hate most new music as well (Damn Emo's) but I still like some new stuff here and there. I listen to virtually every type and genre of music, although I've always loved 80's and 90's rock the most. I also have an un-natural love for Taylor Swift.
Other than Steve Martin, what kind of music do you listen to?

I still play old games too but the new ones are easier to finish;) I don't know about everyone else but the internet has been a boon for omnivorous readers like myself. I found this list: http://artofmanliness.com/2008/05/14/100-must-read-books-the-essential-mans-library/#more-183 and so far the books have been entertaining.

I usually read e-books, the latest were a collection of Mark Twain's and some free e-books by Charles Wadsworth Camp. I do occasionally read some hardcover books, the last one I bought was "Edgar Allen Poe: Complete Tales & Poems" by Castle Books. I bought it for or five years ago and while I enjoyed the stories the poetry put me to sleep:roll:.

I have music by ~500 artists but recently I've been listening to music by Django Reinhardt, Cab Calloway and Bing Crosby. My favorite bands that I grew up with were Duran Duran and Oingo Boingo so I have most of their LP's and CD's. My guilty pleasure was watching Weird Al's music videos every chance that I got:lol:.

I've noticed that as well, I can usually plow through a recent release in under 8 hours, but games from the previous two generations take at least twice that. Maybe it's just my choice of games, but most recent releases that I've played can be beaten over one weekend, Bioshock 2 and Modern Warfare 2 are both good examples. They were both great games, but they were way too short.
The only lists I ever really look for online are lists of sad songs. I like most of my music to be depressing as fuck, so I'm always looking for new sad songs.
Thats unusual about Edgar Allen Poe, I love his poetry but never cared for his stories.
Your mention of Oingo Boingo reminds me that I need to see if anyone did a decent cover of Only a Lad.
And I still have Weird Al's Star Wars/American Pie perody on my MP3 player. ;)

I have about 30 links to free music from early 1900's wax cylinder recordings to free music given out by new artists ;) I like soundtracks, environmental music, and upbeat stuff to exercise to. The only music I know of that's consistently sad is Country;)

I like to read mostly older horror and science fiction books but i also have several small collections of books pertaining to my many hobbies. A cover for Oingo Boingo... isn't that sacrilegious:lol:, just kidding, I actually have the Marilyn Manson version of Personal Jesus and of course a couple of Wierd Al's albums.

The only soundtracks I have ever liked were the Scrubs TV show Soundtrack and soundtracks to Video Games. Oh and the Pulp Fiction soundtrack was pretty good.

I have an entire playlist devoted to sad shit on my MP3 player, ranging from the somewhat sad like Snuff by Slipknot, to the "I'm gonna go kill myself" kind like Type O Negative and Hurt by Nine Inch Nails/Johnny Cash.

The original by Oingo Boingo is good, I'd just prefer a cover. I actually have a lot of covers of various songs, you'd be surprised at how much better a song can get if handled by the right artist. The best example of that is Mad World by tears for Fears. The original was good, but the cover that Gary Jules did was just plain amazing.

Oh, and Johnny Cash's cover of Personal Jesus is the best version, bar none. And thats coming from someone who has almost every Marilyn Manson album. The original version is crap compared to both covers, but Johnny Cash just does the song so much better.

If you were interested in selling/trading it, cag skooba81 has it listed in his wants list, you can try to work out a trade with him.

I listened to the record once and now it's proudly displayed on my shelf along with he other SE goodies. Sadly you missed out on the Artbook, which IMO was the best part of the SE.

I have a few songs by Slipknot and Johnny Cash but I don't have the ones that you mentioned. Now I have to look for that Mad World version by Gary Jules to see if it's better:roll: I can't believe someone bought an LP from your lowball sale and they didn't even have a record player to play it back on, now that's what I call a fan:lol:

I really liked the Deco Devolution Art Book but I only looked at it once and then put it away to keep it safe. I don't really collect game art but i do have the art books from God of War III, Resistance 2, and the last Prince of Persia game. I just started buying collector's editions and so far I like them but I usually wait until they go on sale since they're expensive.

The mad world cover you are talking about...isn't that the one they used for the Gears of War 1 commercials? That song was amazing, I was actually trying to figure out who the hell the artist was and couldn't remember for the life of me

If you were interested in buying them, I saw them going for about $10 on ebay at around the start of my lowball sale. Not sure if they're still going for the same price or not, but it couldn't hurt to check.

Snuff by Slipknot is very different from what they normally do, its a lot lighter and more melodic. I personally think it's their best song, but I don't think too many hardcore slipknot fans agree with me. Make sure you check out both songs though, I'd love to know what you think of them.
I'm the same as you, I like the Collector's Editions but they are always way too expensive to buy at release. Look at the Bioshock 2 SE, that was originally $100, and within a month there was a deal to get it for $50 brand new.

Yep, that was the song in the gears commercial, and I do believe that it was the Gary Jules version, but I haven't seen it in a while.

Here is the music video I found on youtube for Gary Jules' Mad World cover if either of you are interested in hearing it.

Wow, that really was a different song for Slipknot:shock:. I watched the music video but I didn't quite get it, was he supposed to be like Norman Bates or what? I had heard that Gary Jules' cover before and just didn't know it, I do like it but I still like the original a little better.

I found out that all my Slipknot songs are from soundtracks. I have the Resident Evil Soundtracks, and there is one song in the Guitar Hero III Legends of Rock game:lol: I seem to remember a music video by them as a bonus feature on a movie but I can't remember which movie.

I actually haven't seen the original music video before, I originally watched this version with the lyrics:

Try watching this one, seeing the lyrics might help with getting the point of the song.
If you want something more like them, try Wait and Bleed if you haven't heard it. In fact the entire first album was pretty good.

Glad to see someone agrees with me that Snuff is amazing. :D
btw thanks for posting the vid...i love that song
You may also want to check out a song of his called "No Poetry". It's not quite as good as Mad World, but its a pretty great song.
