Remind me again why these guys try to claim the moral highground?

How are we going to spread Democracy and capitalism in the Middle East if we don't make friends with Theocratic Monarchies in Saudi Arabia and opium producing warlords in Afganistan. ;)

At least the whole thing was plausable when we were reacting to terrorism and the WMD propoganda had not yet been debunked.
 
Not surprising. For all his rhetoric about changing U.S. policy towards authoritarian regimes like Saudi Arabia, Pakistan, Egypt, Jordan, etc. we are still close friends with them for military reasons.
 
"Moral values" are just a couple of a dozen or so buzz words (good for campaign ads and slogans) the party likes to throw around come election season. Such words don't mean a whole lot the rest of the time, but they sure do sound good to gullible voters. :D

I've always noticed that Republicans only really start bringing up moral values when the election is coming around. Weird, isn't it?
