This mail is notification that a previously scheduled renewal to XBX-11466 Xbox360 Annual Gold Xbox Live Basic Subscription (49.99) USD has been canceled.

I bought 2 cards from Dell back in September and activated them. Now I get this email. What do? :bomb:

Hmm, any reason for the cancellation? Did you get them super cheap? Even if you did, MS shouldn't have the right to cancel them after they've been activated. Strange. I'd just try and contact MS and see what they have to say.

I just got the same email and I activated a new 12 month card a month or two ago, so I don't know what this email is talking about. Might be some sort of scam.

I could be wrong, but it could be that you had an automatic renewal scheduled and activating your cards canceled it. Did you pay in advance at any point? If so then make sure you get your money back. Oh, and Im not sure if its related, but I just got confirmation of my renewal (took advantage of that 29.99 deal)

They're probably just electing to cancel your $50 auto-renew rather than automatically turning into a $60 auto-renew. My guess, anyway. Or did they cancel the prepaid card as well?

You must have previously been set to auto-renew. Activating the card probably just turned it OFF. You Gold subscription is still there, correct? Check your 'End Date'. It advances by whatever time on the card you redeemed.

You activated them in September but are only now getting the e-mail because this must be the date of the changeover when those redeemed cards have taken affect..

Renewal is canceled NOT the cards themselves.

I got one today saying "This mail is notification that a previously scheduled renewal to XBX-xxxxx Xbox360 Annual Gold Xbox Live Basic Subscription (49.99) USD has been canceled. " from Microsoft Online Services.

Then a few hours later "This mail is confirmation that you have successfully renewed your subscription to Gold – 12 Month...." From *XBOX LIVE.

I had bought some cheap cards from Target and applied to my account. No when I log into MS billing it only shows one card active but the expiry date is correct. Like they consolidated the pre-paid cards or something.

I don't know- guess I will just watch the billing account closely for the next few weeks.

I had a similar pair of emails. One declaring my renewal was cancelled and another saying that my renewal was cleared.

Each time I freaked, went and check my account, and my end date hadn't changed. Not sure what the issue is.

I received both of those emails yesterday, and called XBL (1-800-4MY-XBOX), because I'm not supposed to auto-renew until April of next year. The lady I spoke to said they were doing updates to XBL, and the updates were causing the notifications. She also said I would not be charged the $50 again until my renewal date in April. I would call XBL support and check your account to be sure though.

they're canceling everyone's $50 plan and moving them to the $60 plan. This triggers the cancellation/re-sign up e-mails. No one is actually getting charged anything.
