It's pretty good as long as you can overlook a few issues.
It has to be plugged in to an outlet, has no power button (unplug it when you turn your computer off) and doesn't work with certain motherboards (which means you will have to get a USB 2.0 card if you have an issue).
op, how much did you want to spend? you can get this 300gb (16mb, 7200rpm) hd from outpost.com for $79.99 (plus tax) w/ free shipping, and then buy an external hd case from newegg. the total should come out to $100, give or take a few dollars.

Thanks for the links and suggestions. I think I will buy a casing and a hard drive, that seems to be the best for my money. I only have about a $100 to spend. I could go a little more, but not much.
