Resident Evil 2 (GameCube) $29.99 shipped @ Amazon

Yeah I got this one, and I need to grab RE3 someday but the budget doesn't permit even at that price for a overpriced port hehe. I think I bought mine off GQD for $30ish or $40ish back a few years ago when the price was insane on it ($70+) but after a few reprints the price has plummeted.

I hope not - RE0 and RE1 deserve another reprinting before this one gets yet another.

a shame that re2 and 3 didn't get the redone treatment like re1 but i guess good to have if you missed out on the dc versions which these are ports of.

actually this is a port of the Playstation version. DC had Code Veronica

I bought this new about 2 years ago from a different seller on Amazon for 39.99. It was the first time I ever played the game, and I enjoyed it alot.

Used to own this until it kinda dawned on me it was just a psx port on the cube, since my playstation still works I just kept that instead. Still i'm surprised it keeps getting reprints like this, second or third one now?

it's actually has Dreamcast graphics, not a plane PS1 port. Dreamcast got a release for nemisis and RE 2 as well.

incorrect, it is a DC port.

ugh, this and Nemesis are probably the only collectible GCN games I don't have. I just cannot bring myself to pay these prices to keep them sealed and just for the sake of completeness.

I remember the good ol' days when this was $80 on Ebay.

Err... well anyway, yeah, pick this up. The game is still excellent and while the graphics are weak (though they've been cleaned up for the GC version), the game is very fun. This is the definitive version of RE2, even vs. the DC and PC versions.

Now, obviously the graphics are still going to look like... well, RE2.... but I admit that this is the version I keep going back to. PS1, DC, N64... nice to own and all, but this is the only version that I can play through component cables.

I mean, it still looks like the game, but it *does* clean it up a bit.

i really wish someone would have posted this a few days ago before i spent so much money. hopefully, sony will eventually get on the ball and get more PS1 games like this one on PSN.

They were reprinted by GQD... just recently I believe.

Wow, this seems like a lot of money to pay for such an old game. I wouldn't pay $29.99 if the game were just released for the Gamecube. I mean it was a great game 9-10 years ago, but by now you should be able to find it in $1 bins or something. I'm guessing whoever's buying this is doing it for collection purposes.

Yes there's a certain allure to owning every single RE game on the 'cube. Especially back when Capcom said that RE was going to be a Nintendo exclusive (lasted 2 months). I tried myself buying them all but couldn't bring myself to shell out the bucks.

Would you please let us know if this is a Player's Choice version when it arrives? If it's original then PM me ASAP! \:D/

Yeah but the DC version supports pro scan, while the GC version frustratingly doesn't.

Considering the PS1 versions are going for around the same price, it's not too bad. But then PS2 versions are dirt cheap.

At a gamestop I went to they had a copy of RE 3 like brand new, its like they just took the plastic off and suck a used tag on it, for $30. A couple of weeks later I went back and found the same thing, same game.
Was this reprinted again?
Well I could've sworn I was looking at the GameCube Resident Evils on Amazon a few weeks ago and RE2 wasn't being sold my Amazon and the prices were in the forties and fifties used. I could have mistaken RE2 with Code Veronica though...

Love the game, but I can't bring myself to pay that much for such an old game. I still have my PS1 copy after all. :)

Still, that's for the info OP!

I remember when I saw this and Nemesis for $15 each at Target.... but I didn't buy them. *slaps self* Stupid stupid stupid!
didn't the N64 version have extra content the other versions didn't?
Nope. It's got exactly the same content as the PS1 DualShock-enhanced version, with the same graphics as the Dreamcast and PC versions. It doesn't have the option of using the control scheme from the N64 version, and doesn't have the extra content of the N64, PC or Dreamcast versions.

Does anyone know if this plays where "up" is always forward?

or does left take you left and whatnot...i had RE2 for PS1 (dual shock ed.) and I can't remember.

I managed to scoop up all the GC RE games when I had the chance, right before they became rare as hell. One of the best decisions ever, having them all on the GC is GREAT.

PS, no lie, RE2 is one of the freaking best games ever. If you haven't played it you must.

I bought RE 2 and 3 a few months back when GS had B2G1F sale. It made it a bit easier to handle the utrageous prices, and the games were practically new (I buy nothing less, especially at these prices!)

That's what I thought too. I know for a fact I saw RE2 for $40 since I was thinking about picking it up and then backed out when I saw the price.

I'm thinking they got another reprint... eBay prices have plummeted.

Yeah, on the default control setting, "up" is always forward and pressing "left/right" only turns you in those directions. There are 3 different control settings you can choose from. I always used control setting "C" that made the R trigger "forward" and I find that it makes it much easier to get around.

I would love to see a REmake of RE 2 & 3. Since they both cover much of the same areas (streets of Racoon City and the Police Station) and take place around the same time, it would be cool if they combined the two games into one.
