I wish the color was a darker red, but this is a pretty good deal since they are giving all this without any markup from the price of the elite.

just do a shopping search, they show up on all the major retailers sites for sale. even Sams Club... I'd say they will be a little hard too get at first, and probably a limited run even, but they will sell as many as retailers order within their buying quarter. Then it'll be on to the next "big" thing.

Yeah im pretty pissed about it, i applied 2 weeks ago for an amazon CC to get the $30 off first purchase to buy this. Still have yet to hear from them, looks like ill be going to BB and have to pay tax.
 
One day one. I will be going to BB and upgradeing my Arcade to this. Damn Arcade is screwing up anyway. Thank god for BB warrenty.

Warranty changed, you might wanna double check it before you throw down your hard earned cash at BB to extend the warranty. Assuming that if you're replacing under warranty and want the same ability to swap consoles, you may not be able to in the future.

Thanks, pulled the trigger on this since shipping is $10 cheaper than tax would have been. Will update when it ships!
 
Me too, waiting to see what happens. Figured I might as well, like you said, the tax thing. I'll save even more, where I live it would be like $435 after tax.

God I love new egg. but Now I need Help!

I've got $50 in BB gift card. but I would have to pay tax and possibly shipping. so thats around $440.
OR!
I could get it at newegg, no tax but +$15 to ship - around $414

If I go BB route I get Reward zone points and would get some certificates. which I kinda take in to consideration in the final price.

I ordered mine from Newegg around 4AM (Ohio time) and by 6AM my credit card was charged. Makes you think they have them in stock and ready to be shipped out.

Also, I pre-ordered one from Amazon on March 1st and then yesterday, I noticed they are "unavailable" on thier site, so I e-mailed their customer service about my order and they told me that they didn't know when they would get them in and my order wouldn't arrive on the 17th (the original delivery date when I ordered).

I didn't cancel my order from Amazon yet because my account still says I should get it on the 17th.

Who knows?!?!? I might end up with 2 when it is all said and done?!?!?

4. took train to work, realized I really dont need this shit, will just buy game.
5. got to work , called BB, cancelled BB order.

can't bother trying to flip my current 360 realized this was stupid. now i have to find the best deal on the game alone.

Whats are you guys doing?
 
I'm using my warranty at GameCrazy to get credit on my account to use to buy the Red Elite. I bought a regular elite in 2007, the day it came out, and purchased a two year warranty with it. It might expire soon or the company might tank so I might as well flip it and get an additional eighty dollars to use on a variety of other things at the store.

Besides my elite has red ringed for the last time! I want a more reliable chip-set and the extras and color are an enticing reason to not send this into Microsoft this time.
 
I also pre-ordered the day the system was finally announced... so I'm number one on the list and excited to get a working 360 again.

1 and 4. But I use my truck. I'm just getting the CE through DD, that's enough enthusiastic consumerism for me. if I bought this thing, i'd have to start eating out of garbage cans. Don't need.

It would appear so, because it shows as shipping. I'll definitely have it by Friday, maybe even before depending where it's shipping from.

Color me jealous. I ordered within an hour of it being posted on February 24th and I'm not supposed to receive it until March 18th.
 
I'm definitely happy I don't have to deal with driving around to stores on Friday morning now trying to get one, and I avoided paying tax. Gotta love The Egg.
 
I guess I should have ordered mine from NewEgg. I ordered mine online at GameStop and it is still at 'preorder releases on 3-13-09'.
 
geez, guys, calm down.

Amazon's ship dates are usually greatly exaggerated-- mostly to keep people from flipping out IF they're late, and make you happy if (when) they ship early.

Also, with console launches, they tend to ship farther (distance) orders first.. so if you live 3 days from a warehouse and ordered standard shipping, they try to ship so it arrives at launch. If you have Prime they ship 2 days out.. if you ordered overnight they ship the day before, etc.

Don't panic.

luckily my jobs always seems to have food left over after meeting, so i scavenge alot, though muffins and bagels aren't the best lunch, the price is right!

Yeah I'm also hoping to walk in on Friday afternoon and pick one up. I can try Target, Wal-Marts, and TRU or I could also try Gamestops and Gamecrazy stores to see if they have any left overs from pre-orders.
 
Ordered mine on NewEgg last night... website says it shipped today. If I am lucky it'll come in on Friday (UPS doesn't deliver on Saturday). If it does, I know what me and my son will be doing all this weekend!
 
I hope people doing walk-ins on release date have luck. I'm glad I pre-ordered mine from GS on the first day. Just waiting for Thursday night! And my friend is going to buy RE5 from me for $55, even though I may only charge him $50. I prefer the Ps3 versions of games. Just two days now, or should I say two nights.

buy.com and Best buy website are still taking pre orders.
If some merchants are still taking pre orders it must mean that there are tons of these bundles still available.

Maybe it will be easy to find one at gamestop and everywhere else as a "walk in".
 
I hardly think that means there are "tons" of them still available. It could mean that there are 5, it could mean that there are 500.

Anyway, if you're someone that really wants one of these systems, why leave it to chance by going to a store the morning it's released? Just order it online and wait for it to show up.
