Resident Evil: Umbrella Chronicles! 950,000 sold! IGN: 7.9! 1-UP: 7.5! GT: 8.3!

Straight 8s, not bad and I expect scores like that for this. This is a must buy for me (as a RE fan) but later, after Christmas or BF. This looks to be a great coop game to play with my brother who also happens to be a fan of RE.

anyone know when Kmart will get this game? Tuesday? With the 20% off coupon over at the vg deals thread, this would be a nice deal.

The controls aren't slow and unresponsive, to the person who showed that video. There is a developer video on youtube, and the response time is near perfect. No delay whatsoever. You can probably change the cursor speed anyway if it's not like dead accurate aim.
I ordered one of those. Should be getting it soon. I'm also looking to buy the Piranha magnum if it becomes available.

As long as the Z trigger is not utilized on the Zapper I will not buy it.
I've been staring at this sentence for the past 3 minutes and can't figure out what it means. I want to know, really bad. Can someone translate?

As long as developers keep their head up their ass and keep using the B button on the Zapper as the trigger (button you shoot with in rail games), instead of the Z button on the nunchuk, and not allow us to configure the buttons how we want I will not buy the Zapper.

- Ghost Squad was confirmed multiple times for the Jp version
- Capcom themselves confimed no Z button for UC
- Link's Crossbow training, no confirmation, but videos say it's doubtful
- Medal of Honor, same as Crossbow training

Ok, the reviews have pretty much convinced me to get this. What's the best deal on it so far? I'm already buying Galaxy and Assassin's Creed tomorrow though, so this will probably have to wait.

the only deal I see is using that 20% off coupon from Kmart...but like I asked before, does anyone know when Kmart stocks new release of games?
My friend is getting this over Galaxy. Gotta say I'm happy since I want to play this, but I don't want to have to buy a Wii.
This is probably the game you want to buy a Wii for..

Well I know I do since I'm a huge RE fan, but I'd rather spend my money on all the other games coming out this year since my funds are limited :p

use the 20% off coupon and save some money...
Friends don't let friends skip Galaxy.

Also, tell your "friend" to just do the TRU $25 gift-card thing. That practically pays for RE right there.
I told him to get Galaxy and he does want it, but when we played the demo yesterday he was complaining about controlling Mario being awkward.
BAM! GameTrailers: 8.6

Edit: It got an 8.3. My bad. This score seems really underrated. Considering it's first review on the market. Who knows.
Gametrailers is usually right with their reviews. They say what's wrong with the game and show why. I think they're the best place to go to for reviews actually.

I agree with that. I also like www.gamecritics.com, although they're unreliable for timely reviews.

Is there a reason why this piece of shit site wont work for me? I click for the review enter a birthday it p;lays 6 seconds, than stops and asks to play again? What the fuck?

It *should* be out in some locations. The 3 Kmart's I called have NO fuckING Idea what I am talking about. One Kmart's electronic department said "We don't sell Umbrella's in the electronics department..." My head is going to explode! Are they even going to carry this game?

Why the fuck would you look for this game at Kmart? Hell, any game besides their clearance ones.

Oh, and Wesker's voice sounds like shit. Even worse than the original.

20% off coupon at kmart baby....

Who gives a fuck. If you watched the Gametrailers.com review of it, you still hear corny lines.

This game isn't about voice acting, its about shooting up zombies and other nasties.

TRU didnt get any in today....and they still dont know if they are going to get it....because of the M rating

TRU are a bunch of pussies. Anyways looks like anytime after 2pm tomorrow is when the game comes in most major retailers.

Yeah, most places I checked seemed to say it'll be tommorow, if not later in the week. I think TRU's site even has it listed as SHIPPING on the 15th, so who knows?

Two points... one, they NEVER should have shipped this the same week as Galaxy, a point I believe wholeheartedly after the seeing the carnage that was Galaxy's sales today. Two, it's a waiter. I can't in good conscience pick this up day one without seeing some impressions from people on here. I just have too little faith in it.

In terms of TRU getting it... my TRU is carrying RE4, so you'd think they'd be getting UC, but you just never know, right?
Once I see some more positive reviews, I'm definitely getting it if it's like the gametrailers review.
where are you getting your reviews from? The only one I have seen is the GT one.

I really hope that Galaxy doesn't hurt the sales for this game.
I can tell you right now that this game isn't going to get good reviews. The highest it will probably get is 7.x

See, most reviewers don't like light gun games, and most don't like the idea of a RE game that isn't third person, etc. This game will always be viewed as not a real RE game and it will get reviewed accordingly. Add in the Wii factor which will drop the score even more and there you go.
1up - 7.5
IGN - 7.9

And the lesson is don't let "pro" reviews influence your purchases.

I'll be playing it tomorrow. Going with my friend to get it (while I get Assassins Creed) and he's getting another wiimote so we can play co-op.

Kick ass

Thanks for posting the scores. I'm gonna check out what they said now.

EDIT: Tried reading the IGN review, stopped midway through the first page because the journalism seems like it was written by a foreigner who translated into English using Babelfish. Though what should I expect from the same idioti reviewer who stated that Squaresoft created Dragon Quest Monsters in 1998?

EDIT 2: The 1Up review was at least readable and makes the game seems like I would like it despite the flaws they mentioned, as I love both RE and rail arcade shooters. Still gonna wait for some more opinions though.

1Up says it's 7 hours long if you read their review, not 20 like gametrailers says. Apparently gametrailers sucks at the game and kept dying. Or that 1Up played with 2 players, which made the game faster and easier.

I hope youre bullshitting me. I bought 3 games in that buy 2 get 1 free, returned one for BWii and will return the other for REUC. They better get that shit in :bomb:

ok then 7 hrs / 20 hrs of fun. My gf is not into gun/violent video games so count her out for teaming up. My brother *might* like it but it's rare for him to visit without his wife or son. No way he's going to let his 5 year old kid know I have 1 a Wii and a Violent video game.

My question is, how tired will your arms be from holding up the Wii-Mote and Nunchuck for hours!?? Sure this is not Wii Play or Mario and Sonic...but I am sure our arms will get tired after awhile.

I am now really thinking of getting a 3rd party zapper along with the official one. However the one's I have seen look like shot guns.
I am now really thinking of getting a 3rd party zapper along with the official one. However the one's I have seen look like shot guns.
Every review I've seen says that the zapper actually makes the game worse.

Just got the game.

First of all I call GS and they tell me they have it. When I get there the clerk tells me that they can't sell me any games because I didn't reserve it. I get angry (naturally), and tell the guy that he should have told me on the phone instead of making me drive all the way down there. He begins to check his computer then goes in the back and gets me "the last copy". They can go to hell.

Amazon also screwed me and changed the ship date to December. Can you believe that?

Anyway, I just played the first level and the game is very fun. I played it on Normal difficulty and I got hit like 6 or 7 times and I died once. The game has no calibration screen for the zapper and no option to configure the buttons so I don't recommend any type of gun peripheral. The aiming is NOT sluggish and it probably looks that way because the camera is constantly moving making getting a perfect shot hard. The menus could be a lot better as well as the tutorial, but those don't really affect the game.
