Resident Evil: Umbrella Chronicles! 950,000 sold! IGN: 7.9! 1-UP: 7.5! GT: 8.3!
My question is, how tired will your arms be from holding up the Wii-Mote and Nunchuck for hours!?? Sure this is not Wii Play or Mario and Sonic...but I am sure our arms will get tired after awhile.
The same level of tiredness you would get from holding up a gun controller for hours. I remember playing House of the Dead 2 with my wife on the Dreamcast and our arms would be dead by the time we finished the game. Same difference here I imagine, except that you couldn't save halfway through HotD2.

Crap I'm going to have to pick this up for the holidays. Or maybe put it on my wishlist. My friends went nuts over the Mercenaries mode in RE4. Looks like this will be a hit too.

Not sure what Amazon's problem is. They sent me an email saying that shipping has been delayed and they won't be sending my copy out until November 21. So I check the game on their site, and it's listed as "In Stock". What the hell?

They lost my $100 with their bullshit. I had Mario and UC preordered there months ago and they still pull this garbage. They shouldn't offer preorders that say a game will ship on a certain date when it will inevitably get delayed to hell.

I'm not preordering anything from them ever again.

Bit the bullet and ordered this, Super Mario Galaxy, Wii Play with remote, and nunchuck since I only currently have one controller set and, like I said, I'm forcing my boyfriend to play this with me. ;) Should have it by Friday, God willing.
Just got the game. He begins to check his computer then goes in the back and gets me "the last copy". They can go to hell.

It wasn't a Gutted/Displayed Case/Rental copy was it?

Anyways I went to best buy after I picked up the HESS trucks for my dad and my nephew.. Store locator said it was in stock at another store so I guess they were selling before 10am, but since I was coming in around 2pm, I might as well swing by my local one instead of driving 30 mins to the one that had it early. Big mistake. Got there 1 min after 2pm, they couldn't find it anywhere. Then they give me bullshit excuses saying that Best Buy stores AREN'T getting the game and it's a on-line only item...I said BULLSHIT since there other store (which was 30 mins away) had it for pick up. The employee looked up the inventory and found the other store had 57 of them and that this store was suppose to have 40 of them or so..but of course they can't find it.

So I go to the other store, picked it up and used the 5 dollars off coupon. That worked fine...but damn tax so I only saved 2.50 (since it was 5 dollars off, so that's 10%, but state tax is 5%)..oh well.

Just played the first level, my hands aren't steady as I mentioned before so it was hard to get those good head shots :| Playing one player, I can see how this game would take 20 hrs to complete. After dying from the Scorpion several times I decided to give it a break.

As for the 20% off coupon a K-mart... Looks like people in my area k-marts abused the hell out of them and weren't accepting them anymore.

I will give it another try later tonight.
It wasn't a Gutted/Displayed Case/Rental copy was it?
No, it was a sealed copy. I wouldn't have taken it otherwise - especially after they lured me into the store under false pretenses.

I saw several at Best Buy this afternoon, but didn't buy it - I'm saving this as a 'hey, buddy, buy this for Christmas' game...can't afford it right now with all of the big games for Wii/PS3.
8.4
It's not that big of a difference.

Depends on how interested you were in the game before the reviews, if you were really interested then go for it.

Gametrailers gave it an 8.3, is that good enough? ;)

I really don't know how people like this get paid to write. Are the qualifications to write at IGN a GED or a two-month stint at a community college or something?

This game got hyped up a lot. The user ratings for this are like in the 9.5+ range on all different sites. I'll be picking this up anyway when I get enough money for it.

Ok, we are really going off topic here....

Anyways went back and gave it another go. Beat the fucking scorpion! Beat the bat, those damn monkey's, and the Tyrant Mini boss. Marcus' Final form was a real bitch... "Aim for the mouth" says Rebeca. "That's what I am doing you bitch!!!" says me!

SAVE YOUR fuckING AMMO or else you will be sitting there shooting Marcus' Final form with your standard pistol for over 30 mins!!!

My right arm hurts from slashing those leeches. My left hand feels useless since I have no real use for the nunchuck.

The pre-rendered cut-scenes are really good. I am glad Capcom didn't loose the models from the original games. Does Rebeca's voice sound different to you?

That's what happened to me just now. 31 minutes clear time. I can't believe I actually thought this game would be easy. "Shoot it in the mouth!" Yeah fucking right! And I'm playing on normal people. NORMAL! I don't even want to imagine what Hard is like.

My wrist feels like it's going to fall off having to reload the damn handgun so much to kill that thing.

Seriously. This game is awesome. Buy it!

I really think it's going to be a lot easier once the zapper is out, therefore shooting from the hip instead of having my arms out for so long.

Already someone has LEAKED most of the game play videos on you tube...

fuck Marcus' final form is really pissing me off. It's like after I get it to the sunlight exposure, it shakes and I shoot it up then gets pissed and tries to whack me which pushes me back forcing me to shoot it up again back to the light. Once I run out of machine gun bullets and shot gun shells, throw my remaining grenades, and grenade launchers at it, it still gets pissy and tries to bitch slap me. Then it's all over when I am using the standard hand gun and becomes pointless to continue shooting at it, so I let it kill me. That's it, I'm getting my cousin to come over tomorrow to kill this bitch.

GS: 7.0

I'll never understand how they review games. After reading it, it seemed like there were hardly any negatives at all, yet it still got a fairly low score. Makes no sense to me.

Awesomely fun game though, enjoying it a lot so far.

I thought this and galaxy were comming out the same day. Sadly I was mistaken and spent the money meant for this game on some dvds. I will certainly pick this up next time I go shopping (along with the zapper and Ghost Squad ).

Medicore reviews don't bother me. I know extacly what I'm getting with this game, the only thing I was concerned about was game length and it is at least 10 hours which about perfect. If I don't buy this game it is certianly going to be a rental.

Ugh, I hate GS. They either give scores too high or too low to stand out. The difference isn't very big with this game, but still it's annoying.

Awesome game though. Seemed shorter than 10 hours to me. I think it only took a few hours for us to go from the beginning to the end of the RE3 storyline. Is there anything else after that?

I read there's an all-new section with Chris and Jill... they go to an Umbrella base in Russia.

I'll have this game tomorrow. Can't wait to play it this weekend!

Guess I'd better go back over and play that. I ran out of time yesterday and pretty much ran out the door as soon as we finished the RE3 part.

I was very disappointed there were no RE2 levels in the game.

How is the pointing in this game, from the IGN review, it seems like it would bother me a lot. I remember thinking that the aiming looked a bit off from the videos.

What is up with IGN? Over half of their review is complaints, but then they give it a 7.9. They pulled that same trick with Assassin's Creed. If they think the game isn't very good they should have a score that reflects that. Gametrailers gave this an 8.3, which isn't that much higher at all, but they clearly loved the game a whole lot more than IGN. I'm not saying that reviews don't matter, but the actual ratings are complete rubbish.
Keep in mind the game is apparently worse with the zapper.
You know I am going to stop listening to people saying "RE:TUE is worse with the zapper".......LET ME DECIDE IF IT'S WORSE.

I'll probably wait for a price drop or ask for the game for X-Mas.

After reading some of the reviews posted, I was surprised the game was a lot longer than I expected. Also because I was so in the dark about this game, I didn't know you play through sections of other Resident Evil games.

It seems like this game is catching a lot of flak for being a rails shooter. Most of the reviews have been "It's great, fun shooting game, but we give it a 7 because rail shooters are so 90s". I'm still grabbing this during the B2G1 sale. Later I'll pick up Ghost Squad because I love rail shooters but too cheap to play them in the arcade.

Okay guys,

I am looking for the Father in Law.

He enjoyed DC's House of the dead, and when we hit the arcades (yeah I am 28 and he is in his late 40's, oh and for the record my wife IS older than me no robbing the cradle here)

Anyway will he like this game? Is it too cheesy or too much of a throw back? Are you guys digging it due to the nostalgia of the whole thing..... or could someone come in that likes on rail shooters, and really get into the game without being bogged down? Would not knowing the story effect his "fun" and watching cheesy cut scenes all part of it, or would they not seem so cheesy?

I don't want to read a lot about it to not spoil the thing for me...
Pointing works great.

IGN seems to have a stick shoved up their ass lately.
I still can't help but feel there is some pointer imprecision when moving the cursor only a little bit. This is of course only my observation from watching videos. Unless every person I've seen sucks at pointing, when moving across the screen the target is often overshot, and when trying to aim carefully, the cursor looks pretty jerky.

This is a concern for me because I'm pretty picky about aiming. For instance I didn't like the aim in Zelda or Red Steel because it wasn't nearly as responsive as a certain fps minigame in Super Monkey Ball, or even the Wii menu for that matter.

There is no imprecision.

If you play by just shooting everything in sight, there is no imprecision at all. The 'imprecision' comes from the fact that people are trying to one hit kill everything in a very specific area and so they hold back until they can get that shot off (which gets graded at the end of the level).

anyone else taking their time with this game? I will play once scenario and then take a break for a few hours and I want this game to last a long while. Just got to the RE3 scenario and stopping for today.

I walked into 2 Kmarts today with the 20% off coupon and neither had it =/. I'm gonna check a 3rd tomorrow but I was looking forward to this game.
