Resistance 2 new for 18.00 shipped!

Is he messaging you guys with tracking numbers via Ebay? I've never seen that. Usually, shipment notifications come in the form of an e-mail from Paypal/USPS.

EDIT: Ah, nevermind. I poked thru some of my old Ebay e-mails and I see that on occasion, some purchases do show up as shipped.
I saw 2 feedbacks for games.
The two feedbacks you posted earlier just said "game." If this person sells baby stuff, for all we know, it could be some kind of kid's game. Anyway, even if it was for a couple of video games, there's a big difference between someone selling a game or two and then suddenly stumbling upon 60 copies of one game.

Yep, email from PayPal on shipping information. It also shows up on eBay as shipped with the tracking info.

I see that the seller has BOUGHT a PS3 copy of GH: Van Halen, so I don't think we can rule out that the "games" sold were video games.........

I guess we all can just wait and see.

Got a shipping confirmation along with a tracking number, as well.

I'll keep my eye on this, hopefully I'll get it.

I didn't even look at the feedback until Doomstink pointed it out. Definitely doesn't seem like the same person.

Anyway, as far as feedback goes, as was mentioned earlier, the person who "sold" us the $15 360 controllers had very good feedback. He had even recently sold a bunch of stuff. Feedback is meaningless if the account was hijacked, which seems like it's definitely a possibility here. The only odd thing is that it's just one item. But as someone else mentioned, they could be trying to make it less obvious, now that people are catching onto this game.

Alright so in the event that things go south what steps should people take to get their money back? Where should we make claims and when, if not immediately, do we take action?

I could be wrong, but that doesn't look like a valid USPS delivery confirmation number at all.

Even more mysterious, my tracking number was 22 digits. Delivery confirmation numbers are 20 digits long.

Notice the tracking number is 867-5309. Repeated twice. The number from that 80's song....

I'm pretty sure this is a scam.

Actually, there are valid 22 digit numbers. But not 14 digit numbers with 867-5309 repeated.

This is why Ebay deals are not supposed to posted here unless they are from truly reputable dealers/sponsored by Ebay.

To comment on those who said to be weary of this because of possibly not getting a refund. A few years back I was scammed by a CAG person for $70. I filed a complaint and won, but the guy emptied his PayPal account and there was nothing they could do about it.

When the whole $15 360 controller thing happened I decided to jump on the Zune he was sellng. I of course did not get my item, so I actually CALLED PayPal and spoke with CS. I told them the story about me not getting my money back from the last dispute I filed and asked if the guy emptied his account would I be out of my money no matter what. I was told that in the past that was the way things worked, but now whenever you use PayPal and eBay it is 100% covered if you win the dispute.

I personally would have bought this game from the seller if I did not already have the game.

Delivery confirmation numbers for USPS are usually 22. At least, I can only find 22 digit numbers in my recent USPS shipping history.

lol, I got a real trackiing number...but i replaced it with the ones I gave so nobody could click on the real tracking info......

I believe DCs that are registered online are 22 digits, while DCs purchased at physical POs are 20 digits.

Edit: Well I guess that all doesn't matter.

LOL that's funny how everyone latched onto it trying to prove it was a fake deal. Seems like you just pulled a prank accidentally.

Large LOL.....I was beginning to get a wee bit freaked out, thinking this seller's account has been hijacked by criminal 80s music fans!

i saw the other posts and was like.. oh god we got scammed, so i looked at my email again and the number wasnt that so i was like wtf. but im glad to see this guy was pranking us and it wasnt actually real

You guys are over thinking this matter too damn much.
Retailers offer Resistance 2 for 60, yes (isnt that a sin?), but the "regular eBay price" for this game has always been in the 20 dollars section.

I been eBayin lately and have always seen this game go for 18 dollars or 22 dollars, etc.

Even is this seller was real, he really never lost any money.
i mean, is not like he can head to his local game store and say " i would like 40 dollars for this game considering you selling it for 60"
right?

he might as well just sell them as a buy it now product

They definitely would have sold still for a few dollars more but yeah it could be legit.

I think ebay takes 15% of all buy it now sales for video games on top of the listing fees so how this seller would make any money off this is beyond me unless they were gotten in some shady manner.

Either way they should have just charged more for shipping and sold the game for less to keep the max amount of money out of ebays greedy hands.
shady manner.

and the consumer wins!

i, for one, welcome all kinds of shady/hot/fallen out of trucks products.

kick-ass song up there as well

Yeah, I thought I was out the $15 with the controller fiasco. After I won the dispute, though, the e-mail did make it sound like you can still be screwed out of your money. Unfortunately, I deleted it, so I can't paste the exact wording. Maybe, someone else has won a dispute recently and could? I know it was along the lines of "if the seller's account does not have sufficent funds, we will take steps." Again, I don't remember exactly, but I had a feeling I wasn't getting my money, but then it showed up a little while later.

Anyway, this isn't such an amazing deal that it's necessarily a scam. Still, there are good points other poster brought up to make me think something up: the different style of description, the fact they are suddenly selling a ton of copies of one game, etc. Good luck to everyone. You'll probably get your money back if this goes up in flames, so not really a big deal, I suppose. I was just trying to help people out that didn't want to get taken.

Hasn't paypal changed it's policy, effective this year, that a seller cannot empty their account (or that the funds remain in limbo) until someone leaves positive feedback for the transaction?

Just checked the USPS website a few minutes ago and there's information up. The package is being sent Media Mail, I think. There's also delivery confirmation.

Since I live in Indiana, I figure I might get this somewhat quick. At least by the end of the week at latest. Hopefully everything here turns out alright for everyone involved.

Ditto, my tracking number works. Fingers crossed!

He just relisted more, but the price went up to $20. I wouldn't worry about getting scammed. a couple of years ago I found a stack of Dynamite Cops for Sega Dreamcast all new and sealed. I kept getting emailed with people asking to see more pics because the $9.99 with free shipping was too good to be true.

I'm going to wait and see if you "guinea pig" CAGs get the game. If all is legit, I'll prolly order one (just to send it to the backlog pile).

Same here, I am in Illinois, so we should find out fairly quickly.

"We have concluded our investigation into your case and have decided in your
favor.

If you are due any additional funds, we will make our best effort to
recover the balance from the seller.

If the seller's account has insufficient funds to complete the refund owed
to you, please be assured that we will take appropriate action against the
seller's account, which may include limitation of the seller's account
privileges."

From the 360 Controller fiasco. They decided in my favor, and I did get my money back, but it can always go downhill. Although in this case video games are treated as a high-risk item and the seller should not be able to touch the money for a while.
anyone got theirs yet?
I just got my tracking number too. Also - its just Tuesday. If anything people should be receiving either tomorrow or Thursday or at latest Friday or Saturday.

My little brother is hooked on LittleBigPlanet. Its a really good deal. Apparently, Sony does't sell both packs together. They sell each set individually. 2 for the price of 1. And, the seller has a really high rating, 99%. Hope they still have some available friday when i get paid. Also noticed that they are selling a ModNation Racers Beta Code. Pass it along folks.

Looks like this was not a rip-off after all:

xD

Status: Processed through Sort Facility

Your item was processed through and left our DES MOINES, IA 50395 facility on January 20, 2010. The item is currently in transit to the destination. Information, if available, is updated periodically throughout the day. Please check again later
Dunno why people were so suspicious. The "normal" price is only in the mid $20's.
For the zillion other reasons people mentioned. The description of the item did not seem like it was written by the same person. The person had little feedback concerning games. They mostly seemed to sell baby-related items, judging by previous feedback and the user name. They did not seem like an active seller. And then suddenly, they were selling dozens of a copies of a game. If it wasn't a scam, then fine. But everytime this stuff pops up, which has been a lot lately, people bitch, moan, and cry about it after they find out it was nonsense. People were simply trying to point that out.

Woah. Big daddy got a little defensive there. Its in my city. Ill tell you in a few hours if it actually came. Usually get mail around 2 pm here. Its just 11:30 am right now.
