Retro Duo and Gen X - US Release? And Where?
I was really young when i had a super nintendo.
And i don't remember if i could save my progress on all the games or not.
And i don't seem to be able to on the retro duo.
Can you only save your progress on certain games?
Thanks.
Not all games had game saves. It depends on the game. Tell us what games you are talking about. Myself, I will probably eventually pick a RetroDuo up, but must admit that it's hard to go back to not having freeze states (as opposed to game saves). So I'll probably continue with playing via emulation instead, at least for the time being.

I have to admit, I'm really impressed....If you're looking to retire old consoles or jumping into the retro market for the first time, I cannot see how you could possibly go wrong.

Do you have it hooked up with s-video output? If so, how do NES games look? I've read some people on DigitalPress complaining about the s-vid for NES saying that it looked grainy and fuzzy and that the colour is more vibrant through composite out.

I don't but I'll hook it up this week and report back.

I read somewhere that S-video shows games in Black and White on NES Games that is. I don't have mine yet so I can't test it but I would like to know.
Right now i have X-Men Mutant Apocalypse..
And Batman Forever..
And i can't save on either of them..
I don't know for certain, but I definitely wouldn't be surprised if those games didn't have saves. Also note that in a lot of games saving only occurs at certain points, so even if it has saves you might have to, for example, complete an entire level before it will save your progress. Try Super Mario World, Super Mario All-Stars, etc. Or go back to playing via emulator and use freeze saves. That's what I was talking about - it's hard to go back to limited game saves. :)

Beware of the RetroDuo, I have had afew E-Bay customers try to return games that would not play on a retroDuo but worked great on my SNES!!

I'm sure it's great for most games, but IMO nothing beats the original.
