Ok, over the summer, I wen't all the way down to FYE to try and return a game that I kept sealed but no longer wanted. I tell them I got it as a b-day gift and i'd like to return it for store credit. Their reply was they aren't able to accept any item without a reciept. They told me that they would only be able to take it as a used game. Still have that game sealed, and a lot of FYE credits and money in which i hope to get a wii. Now, do you guys think its the location in which I went, or thats their actual policy? I looked online and didn't see a damn thing about returning it as a used game. Online it said returns must meet the following criteria, all of which it met. So what do you guys think I should do? Try my luck there again, or try at another FYE location? Thanks. Also, the employees are @$$holes, like 19 year olds who don't really care at all.. I think i might just be better off at another store. Unless, I'm missing something in their policy.. is it me or them?

did you actually brought the game from fye? It will have their own price sticker. That still doesnt mean they will take it.

No, I didn't. I just wasn't sure if this was a policy of theirs that it must have a reciept, or the employees at my local store were just being asshats.

I've returned things before to them without a receipt, but it was bought from them. And then i've gotten store credit.

I've also been denied - but reason was that it was currently part of a B1G1 sale, so understandable.

I've also returned WITH a receipt showing the sale price, and they gave me the current price. 26.99 -> 59.99 being the difference. Did not complain =]

I actually had the opposite experience once. I brought in a few sealed games to get used credit, and they gave me full new credit for them! Employee said it would be a waste to give me the used trade in value since they were never opened :D

I wish I had that happen to me. I rarely traded in sealed games to FYE (I left some sealed when I wasn't sure if they would take them or not) but I was never offered to get full new value for them.

Still, getting $15 on average as a used quote for a game that somewhere else was selling for $5 new (and then FYE tried to sell it for $29.99 used) was great.

I think my favorite was buying Motor Trend Lotus Challenge for $2.99 new at EB in the mall and walking a few stores over to FYE and getting $27 credit for it (and then they wanted $45 used for it!)

So you basically tried to return a game that you didnt buy from fye in the first place and expect them to give you full refund? Correct me if i'm wrong in my assumption though.
