Returning unopened 360 game to gamestop. Question

I did a search and could not find the answer I was looking for.

For my birthday I got 2 copies of Transformers WFC (360). One copy was bought for me from Buy.com and the other from Gamestop. The Gamestop one came with the preorder promo DLC code (Shockwave). I need to return one of these games and obviously returning one to GS would be much easier than RMA it to Buy.com.

So my question is if I use (redeem) the GS DLC promo code will it effect my ability to return the game to GS?

Good question.

You can call gamestop and ask them.

As a last resort, you can just return the game to buy.com for a full refund and keep the one with the promo(gs).
 
I've had to return a few games with Pre-Order bonuses/promos, and never had any problems. Unless the item is on the receipt, they can't ask for it back. In this case you only would have Transformers - $59.99 (or something similar), so that's what you purchased and that's what you're returning, the bonus was technically free. (though this isn't something I'd recommend doing on purpose)
 
Thanks for the info, I hate dealing with the hassle of returning anything never mind doing this on purpose.
