Can anyone recommend this? I was thinking if I could find it cheap for around $10 I might give it a shot, or posibly Goozex.

I'm not a fan of racing games (besides Mario Kart & Rock n' Roll Racing) but this series has always appealed to me. I've played most of them but rarely get entirely through them. I've just never been good at racers and normally give up once it gets to difficult.

Its definitely not the best racing game Ive ever played, but Im pretty sure I picked it up for 15 bucks a year ago or so and Id say it was worth it. Its pretty simple as far as gameplay goes. Choose from a handful of cars, choose a track, race (duh.) The racing revolves heavily around drifting around your turns, which is easy to do once you figure out which of the three styles you like the best.

Overall, it was entertaining enough to kill a lot of time for me. I made it through the main set of races, but then another whole set opens up, so if youre deticated enough it will take a lot of time to complete.

A couple of side notes, the achievements are pretty hard to get, and the 7th race (out of more than 100,) was the most difficult one as far as I experienced. It took me so many tries to beat the 7th freaking race and then I pretty much breezed through the rest of the game.

Ah, Ive never played any of the other Ridge Racer games so I cant say how it compares. I could definitely see how some might call it bland, but it was one of the first games I got for the 360 so I was really just attracted to shiny graphics and such...

Rodimus just noticed you posted this. As you can see on ur list I was playing it for a bit.

If you like drifting It's a decent game, but if you don't you'll hate it. Pretty much every turn your drifting, and you'll be doing plenty of that in career mode. Achievements are a bit hard to complete and the online is dead. So It's mainly a single player experience.

With that said I got a complete copy used for $6 at Gamestop. So It's not throwing a lot of money down, and you could probably sell it back on eBay and make close to that back if you hated it.

While I'm not an achievement whore they do make some games more appealing. I'll think about this one a bit more. Thanks everyone.

I bought it about a week back near the end of the hollywood video sale that was going on. Haven't played it much (maybe an hour total), and in my opinion, it's not as good as the older Ridge Racer games. Maybe my driving game preferences have just shifted to something else, but I personally didn't care for much of it.

However, it's not awful. Just don't expect to play a lot of it in one go. It's more of the type of game you play for a little bit here, little bit there. Or at least, seems that way to me. But for $5 or so, can you really go wrong with giving any game a shot?

I'm a huge ridge racer fan, owning every release across all consoles. It's not as bad as people make it out to be if you know what you're getting in to with the ridge racer control/drift scheme. I've probably put 20 hours or so into this one and beaten the world tour, but it gets to the point where it's insanely difficult to keep up in the upper echelon races. For the money, I still recommend it immensely if you're a fan.

I liked it more than RR7 on PS3, they're very similar I think but 6 just seems easier to control for some odd reason but not quite as good graphically. I was really enjoying it for a while back when I first got a 360 but have more or less given up on playing it because the achievements are so time consuming and I'm not that great at it....online is ridiculous but might not be hardly anyone even playing RR6 online these days anyway.
