I'm done with you, Kevin Yu. I once thought you were a decent human being who was just too busy to send me you end of a trade for a Dreamcast console. But, unfortunately, you have solidified my belief that humans are irrecoverably evil.

It's been 11 weeks since I sent you a teriffic Dreamcast with 2 controllers and hookups, packed tightly and securely in soft foam for protection in a sturdy box. But alas, you can't even return emails or repeated phonecalls to your house or your cellphone. I will keep calling until I get a response, and I suggest that anyone else on this board who has been screwed by you do the same.

I find it interesting that you have told your family to LIE for you and pretend they do not know you, but a young woman who I believe is your sister and your Grandmother ratted you out to me. I KNOW you exist Kevin, they told me as much and gave me your cell phone number which is the same number you gave to me.

For the record, the deadbeat known as RIMSFORSALE's real name is Kevin Yu.

My next step is to file mail fraud charges with your local law enforcement agency. Mail fraud is a FELONY, Kevin. Look that up on the internet so you get a good idea what it means.

You will not escape me, Kevin. I will continue to call your home everyday at random times, not all will be in the wakeful portion of the day. You need to answer for what you have done, or NOT done, so to speak.

I just did, he answered the phone and then hung up on me.

He is a DEADBEAT.

I'll be calling at 7:00 thursday morning, that's 4:00am PST. His grandparents did NOT enjoy last weeks wakup calls to the house, so I'd imagine they will finally confront him as to why someone is still calling him at all hours.
 
PISS HIM OFF!!! i hate people that don't honor trades. that is what gives a lot of people bad names (like you not trusting lots of people now possibly). i might call him from my cell phone (free long distance) once it charges up and say he screwed a friend of mine (though i really don't know you). just trying to help out,but you should definitely report him to mail fraud within the next week and they will file the charges. my older sister's ex bought an engine for his car online and someone screwed him, now he is going to go down to florida from va and sue the guy for like 5 things (don't know all the details). the police caught the guy and arrested him, this same guy had screwed other people the same way. i will see if i can get this guy kevin yu on the phone sometime this week.
 
Calling someone for something that they owe you is against the law? I don't think so. He ripped the guy off, I doubt he has the guts to notify the police about it.
 
From my understanding, if you do repeated calls with an intent to harass or annoy, then it's considered phone harassment. And just because he did something illegal doesn't mean other people should do something illegal or that they won't get in trouble for it. I'm not trying to defend the guy or anything; I'm just saying people should be careful with their actions. bmulligan can certainly ask for his stuff back. I'm more referring to other people.

For the record, I have been calling his house and cell phone on a daily basis. No one answers the home number anymore and I have left messages on his cell number asking for either my games, or my dreamcast back. The last time I got any reply from him was an email on august 6th which read:

? uh.. brian.. i sent the stuff. and i am not ignoring you. just been real busy. please give me a call at (626) 2589611 i am really happy about the DC and always lived up to my end of the deal. im not sure what is going on. but be sure that the items will arrive.

which would have alleviated any suspicion of fraud had he sent it a few weeks earlier or at least emailed me. I understand he'd been busy, but ALL subsequent emails and phone calls were not responded to. I've asked him when he sent the package, a delivery confirmation # or at least a receipt as proof he sent anything but got no reply. I am very forgiving for honest mistakes, but weeks of silence points to willful dishonesty.

I hate to have to make a thread like this but I have no other recourse. I WANT MY GAMES OR MY DREAMCAST BACK.

I will gladly and humbly recount all of these inflamitory posts if he follows through with his obligation. Until then I will do anything within my power to get him to comply.

This thread is mostly for me to vent, so I strongly urge any CAGers who live near him NOT to get involved, as strangers in strange situations could end up causing unintended consequences.
 
Get yer stuff, man. Do whatever it takes. I had a guy try to rip me off.. constant calls at all hours made him finally send my own stuff back, which I was happy about.

Seriously, this is why I would never rip anyone off. Aside from the whole being immoral thing, I wouldn't want people disturbing my sleep.. I like my sleep :)
 
I did a trade with Kevin myself. I got my stuff from him, but it took about a month before he sent my stuff out. 11 weeks is quite excessive though. Time to bring the hammer down bmulligan.
 
Umm I'm sure this sucks but you only sent a dreamcast Its not like its worth more than $20 and a few more for the games, why don't you just get over it, seriously these threads you keep posting are getting really anoying.
 
It's not the Dreamcast, it's the principle of the thing!!!!!

yea so what if it may only be worth $20 ... he has a right to want his stuff back.. stealing is stealing .. the law is even if you steal a pack of gum from the store its a crime why let someone get away with just cause its money.. think how much he had to spend to send that thing at least ten dollars could be 20 dollars depends on how he sent it in the mail... so its more then just the value of the games...


would u feel the same if it was your stuff that was in the trade and you didnt get your stuff back.. would u just say thats ok u can keep it aint worth the few bucks its worth... i bet you would be posting here about it also... so he has a right to post these threads...

RFS was an active member but hasn't posted since July 17th. How many trades did he do? And how many people did he rip off?
 
I hope you do get your games or your Dreamcast back from him, but like others have said, just be carefull, the dude (though I doubt he is smart enough to, but his mom could) file harrassment charges on you if you call an excessive amount of times or at unreasonable hours. I used to work in collections for a credit card company, and legally, we could only call from 8 am up to 10 PM (their time, not your time). Sure that's a big company, but it's in essence the same deal, you are trying to collect on a debt. You also probably shouldn't have posted his number and address on here. I understand your frustration, but that could lead to legal problems for you as well from an harrassment standpoint if 1000 people start calling him or going to his house.

Just don't get into legal trouble yourself over this, if I were you, I'd file mail fraud charges against him, make a police report and do everything legal, call him once a day if you must, at a reasonable hour. That way your ass is covered and everything is legal and action will be taken. Good luck.

My condolences. Hopefully, rimsforsale will step up to the plate and redeem himself. As it stands right now, I have logged the IP addresses he has logged in from in case an IP ban (which is above my capabilities so don't ask) is deemed warranted.

When someone rips me off I usually file a claim of mail fraud with the post office and call their local sheriff. If you're REAL pissed, you can fly to LA and sue him in small claims court. He'll have to pay for your travel expenses.

There has been hundreds of good trades here (I personally had about 20). Out of all of those good trades I think there has been 5 cases where a person has been ripped off. Pretty good odds if you think about it.

First of all, it's the overall principle of the thing. Second of all, if the OP just lets him get away with it, he'll just do it again. It's time to teach him a lesson so he never does this kind of shit again.

bmulligan - don't make it a dick waving contest. File your charges and let Kevin know what you've done. Heck, you could even send over a photocopy of the paperwork. That'll usually get the job done. It seemed to resolve things out with Cloudspekk.

Just don't make more trouble for yourself than you have to. It's pretty clear from what you wrote that the phone calls aren't going to resolve anything. Let the long arm of the law deal with it now.

I'm not waving my member. I'd prefer not to get the Law involved. I like to believe that in a civilized society we can manage to work things out, and if we can't then peer pressure and family pressure can usually nudge us in the right moral direction. It's certainly less messy, less expensive, less complicated, and less detrimental than having to go to court, isn't it?

This is my 'last hurrah', so to speak, before I actually take legal action. I'm giving him this last chance to be an honorable person. We all deserve another chance, right?
