Thank you SOOO much for that link! Verizon, in their infinite wisdom, has seen fit to block my ability to download custom ringtones into my phone. And since it's a phone provided by my job I really can't do any hacking on it. So I've been looking for a good free way to get some ringtones. This works like a charm - I transferred one last night, and have done two so far this morning. You've made me happy. :)

[quote name='jonlubbe']Best bet would be to pick up a copy of motorolla phone tools, then you can backup your phone book onto your computer, and create your own ring tones..

the SLVR has the mini usb cable, right? yup, find yourself a copy of that program and you will be happy.

Absolutely !
I have the ROKR and my girlfriend has the RAZR. The mobile phone tools are sweet.

For free ringtones & pictures, just send a blank e-mail with the attach file to your phone. Just make sure it not a web-based e-mailing service that you send the file with. It works on my verizon phone. Don't know your phone e-mail address? Just send a text message to your e-mail account to get it.

Interesting site.. here's one I used when I had Sprint:

http://www.sprintusers.com/

I'm with Cingular now and using the Sony Ericsson W300i, and I upload mine through a data cable. Only thing is that I have to cut them down to a 128 bitrate to get them to work.. you'd think that bitrate wouldn't be an issue, but oh well. I personally use a program called MP3 Cutter, does the job fairly well. Made 2 this weekend: AC/DC's "Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap" and Led Zeppelin's "Hey Hey What Can I Do."

As posted above, you can send them to yourself if it isn't web based email (depending on carrier and firmware, of course, for one's particular phone).
