(RIP) Offical Disney Movie Rewards Code Thread

Hmmm I bought Frozen and used the dmr code last week. So is this a reward you can't redeem for points? Because when I click redeem it doesn't list a point value.
Yeah that's what I'm seeing. 10 bucks after redeeming the code. No points can be redeemed towards it. We would need WingsDJY to confirm they purchased it.

why do people like slip covers?
I like them for collection purposes and that I have enough where not having them is a problem. For example, I have very few blu-rays and they all consist of Marvel, DC, or the few Disney I now have. The Disney ones I could care less about, though they do make good trade bait for the Marvel/DC ones. Being a huge comic book fan, I take pride in my collection and that extends to the movies. That, coupled with my artistic interests (mainly symmetry), means it's "odd" to me to have the whole collection look a certain way but then have a few pieces throughout look so out of place without their slipcovers.

That's correct. It's $10 after redeeming your Frozen code. I ordered it along with the soundtrack.

I get rid of the slipcovers. Symmetry problem solved, because they're all naked!

No, really, I think they're tacky, with the UPC hole on the back. And the slipcovers have the exact same art and layout as the actual case. Off they go.

I found out form a CAG that people do buy slipcovers on ebay. You may want to sell them off.

Yea some are actually really valuable. Don't ask me why, but they are. (I'm looking at you, Thor :bomb:)

Can't seem to find this Olaf pull apart. Did they take it down already? :/

Whoops. Sorry for the confusion. Yes, I did pay $10 for it.

I love slipcovers because, when done right, it enhances the look of the casing. Though I will admit that a number of them ruin said enhancement with that idiotic blue bar (or, in Disney's case, border) that most slips just HAVE to have.

It was awesome when they did have UPCs on them, then you could (if so inclined) swap a cheap crappy movie with a more expensive good one, and 99 times out of 100 the clerk would never notice the switch, until the pissed off person who bought the crappy movie with the good slip cover came back to the store to return it. This actually happened to me once; I bought Chronicles of Riddick (mainly because it was a 2 for $20, I really wanted Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, and Riddick was the most attractive of the other choices) only to get home and discover I got Ray inside the slip cover. I did not return it.

It may depend on the title. Can't remember where they ship from either but I am in California. My Tron Legacy order took about a week.

are they really that valuable ? my toys r us has had plenty of slip cover copys since it released lol. i highly doubt a piece of shiny card board can be worth that much. well than again i could be wrong lol
It depends on the rarity of the slip and the title itself. Thor: The Dark World slips are a dime a dozen. However, Thor (2011) are hard to find and have a premium attached to them. The red cover Thor (2011) slip variant alone can fetch around $40-$50 online. Same with the Hitler variant Captain America slip also from Best Buy.

And if you ever played Yu-Gi-Oh! or Magic, you know how much shiny cardboard can be. :p

I have the comic cover Captain America from Best Buy, love that one.

I am looking for a Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs blu slip but haven't been able to find one through trading boards or ebay. I was on the hunt for Sleeping Beauty but with a new blu coming out this fall I'll just sell my old copy and get the new release.

If you have an FYE around you I'd check there, they tend to have older Disney movies with slips. Prices are higher than other places but it's a good place to check, I got Snow White and Fantasia there not too long ago, both with slips.

I was able to get Alice in Wonderland and Fantasia slips at pretty reasonable prices through ebay. There is a Snow White slip on ebay but the guy is asking like $35 for it and I don't want it that badly. I don't have an FYE around me but there is a local indie record store which sells used movie, which is where I was able to find a lot of vaulted Disney blus, but its hit or miss as far as slips. A month or so ago they had a Snow White blu which did have a slip but it was mangled and stained at the top so I passed.

Earlier in the thread someone posted the info of how to get slips from Disney but of course all the ones I needed were so old that they were out of stock. I also need Wall-e and Bug Life slips but those were out of print as well,

try calling again, I've seen people posting the Bugs Life slips on a different forum. They might have gotten lucky but maybe you will too

It was only a few weeks ago I checked. Its really only worth it, to me, if they have multiple slips I need in stock. Not really worth the price for just one

A few new items were added including some DVDs for Spiderman Ultimate Villiain, Spiderman : Return of the Green Goblin, and the entire 1994 Iron Man animated series. No blu-rays though which makes this a wash for me. Hopefully another update comes real soon as there were only around 6 items total added.

Holy crap! I had no idea that slip was that valuable. I bought a bunch of Marvel movies off someone here on CAG b/c they wanted to get the briefcase set. Pretty sure a couple of them have the BB exclusive comic book slips (Thor and Captain America, I think).

Yea those two are pricey. I do have a spare Captain America one (non Best Buy) so if you or anyone has an Iron Man 1 or 2 they would want to swap, please don't hesitate to pm me :D

Just realized I have the Captain America sleeve, didn't even know it until I went to watch it this weekend. Not sure what I have for Thor, can't find my copy currently. I moved over a year ago and still have unpacking lol.

No they're not; they're almost as much as Ponyo. Two of them is almost as much as a premium Blu Ray (Like Tangled 3-D), and three of them is more than most Jim Shore collectibles.
Agreed. I see mountains of those POP figures selling for 5 bucks each at conventions. A waste of points.

I was referring to the Wacky Wobblers, not the POP figures. And if you do the math they're not too far apart value wise (in points obviously)

Tangled 3D that was referred to is 1750 points for an item that's 31 bucks on Amazon. 56 points per dollar.

Wacky Wobbler Fozzie (The one I'd want) is 650 points for an item that's 13 bucks on Amazon. 50 points per dollar.

You guys are right that the better deal is the 3D movie but I'd say it depends on what you're into really. You're not losing much point value grabbing a bobblehead...Movies aren't the only rewards being redeemed. I think we just had that conversation in this thread recently. For what it's worth, though, I ended up not pulling the trigger on them ;)

So to fulfill my commitment to the Disney Movie Club, the BD movie has to be $29.95 minimum? That doesn't really give you a lot of options since a lot of the movies are about $25.

I knew I should've grabbed Frozen a couple of months ago. Someone said that even though it's less than the required amount it still counts towards my commitment since it's the featured selection.

I may have to buy a useless 3D combo (I don't have a 3D player) just to get the price over the required threshold.  :???:

I am not sure how that would help. Here is the description of that offer:

Your highest-priced selection counts as your regular price movie (Blu-ray or DVD must be $29.95 or more). All additional titles of equal or lesser value will have the 50% discount applied. Discounted titles do not count toward your purchase commitment, and are limited to 3 units per title. Multipacks,Merchandise and Club Deals are not eligible for discounts. These offers cannot be combined with any other offer or promotion. Offer ends April 28, 2014.
I really only need one purchase to fulfill my commitment. They sent me Ironman3 when I didn't want it, and sent it back to them. For some reason that counted as one of my purchases. :)

Has anyone ordered and received their Olaf the Snowman pull-apart plushie? I ordered it back on March 26th (same day I ordered the Seabiscuit BD and the Frankenweenie pull-apart plushie). I've received those two items, but the Olaf order is still listed as 'pending'. I'm not used to them being this slow.

They said it'll be 6-8 weeks.

If it says "Commitment title" then it will fulfill one commitment.

Regardless, you have a year to fulfill it. Just get a Featured Title.

Get a total of 30 DMR Points by entering the codes below:

RUMBLY
MELTING
ZARINA
TRAVERS
CLOVER
DOTTIE

They each give you five points.

Edit: CLOVER2 also gives you an additional 5 points. Thanks ebay33.

That commitment will likely be removed.
