Sorry this isn't really a deal, but I figure that DVD release news would best be posted in this forum. Feel free to move this if necessary. Also, if this is a repost, please feel free to delete or whatever.

I know that there are a lot of Adult Swim fans here, so here's some great news. Originally scheduled for January, Robot Chicken Season 1 (listed as Volume 1) has been pushed back to March 28. However, there are some awesome features on the set:

Old-school stop-motion animation and fast-paced satire are the hallmarks of this eclectic show created by Seth Green and Matt Senreich. Action figures find new life as players in frenetic sketch-comedy vignettes that skewer TV, movies, music and celebrity. It's television especially formulated for the Attention Deficit Disorder generation.

Warner Bros has just announced that Robot Chicken: Volume 1 will be released on March 28. This 2 disc set will include 20 episodes from the show:

1. Disc 1: The Deep End
2. Junk In the Trunk
3. Nightmare Generator
4. The Sack
5. Nutcracker Sweet
6. Gold Dust Gasoline
7. Kiddie Pool
8. Plastic Buffet
9. A Piece of the Action
10. Toyz in the Hood

Disc 2:
11. Vegetable Funfest
12. S&M Project
13. Badunkadunk
14. Toy Meets Girl
15. Midnight Snack
16. Atta Toy
17. Joint Point
18. Operation Rich in Spirit
19. That Hurts Me
20. The Black Cherry

If you haven't seen this show then you're really missing out. It was created by Seth Green (Buffy: The Vampire Slayer and Family Guy) and Matthew Senreich. Think of the show as sketch comedy with toys. Yes, toys. Watch as many of your favorite childhood toys are placed in hilarious situations.

Seth Green and Matt Senreich have been extremely involved in producing extras for the set. Just look at this list:

* Audio Commentary on all episodes by creators Seth Green and Matt Seinrich.
* Comparison Scenes: FX/Wire to Animation Comparisons & Animatic to Episode Comparisons
* Includes deleted animatics and scenes from 4 episodes.
* Behind the scenes of Robot Chicken with the cast and crew.
* Pee Gag Reel.
* See the Animation Meetings for three episodes.
* Includes alternate audio takes from cast and guest stars.
* Photo gallery

The suggested retail price of the set is $29.98. We'll have cover art as soon as it's available.

I've liked some...I've hated others. I'll pick this up...depending on price. (If it's too high, I'll grab it when it's cheap...)
mmm 30 dollah is to much for robot chicken

hopefully it will end up in gamestop used
No one ever puts out DVDs for retail price... except maybe Media Play stores and such.

It'll probably be $20 or so.

Wow, this is pretty good news. I have enjoyed Robot Chicken for the most part, but as Rig said, I've like some and hated others. Also, this wasn't one AS show that I really must have on DVD. I would rather have Venture Bros. come out on DVD than this one. Also, whoever wrote this article didn't do a very good job. Case in point

It was created by Seth Green (Buffy: The Vampire Slayer and Family Guy)

Um...no, Buffy was created by Joss Whedon and Family Guy was created by Seth Macfarlene (sp). But at least they are correct that Green did create this show.

The article never claimed that Seth Green created Buffy or Family Guy, it just noted his association with both.

Ahh I see. Must have gotten the articles intention confused. Thanks for clearing that up.

Some of them are absolutely phenomenal... others are extremely lacking. I really loved the whole Charlie Brown and the Great Pumpkin sketch.

The Smurf, Peanuts and Mario Kart sketches were just GREAT. :applause:

My favorite quickie, is when chess pieces start talking, and the pawn says: "I'm not about to die for a cause I don't believe in". Priceless. I seriously have been waiting for this to go on DVD forever.

I only saw a blurb with the "Where are they now ('80's toys)." That was pretty funny. I grab these types of shows (Drawn Together, Tripping the Rift, etc.) since they are usually easier to watch on DVD.
Now just announce Birdman v2 and I'll be happy.
We can only wish...

Even if it hits the 29.99 mark Im all over it. Chances are fry's will have a good deal on it and it will be well worth it.

Thanks for that cover art!

Finally, I'll be able to delete all those RC downloads and free up some space on my HDD and some time I would have had to spend on converting these.
