i don't know why everyone hates on the RB1 drums, with a good set of silencers, they're actually not bad. sure, the pedal is prone to breaking, but someone that breaks a RB1 pedal is going to break a RB2 pedal too, since that paper thin sheet of metal on the RB2 pedal isn't really protecting anything. the only real advantage is that the RB2 drums are wireless, but if wires aren't an issue, a RB1 set will do fine for someone that doesn't want to spend an extra $20 on the RB2 drum kit...
just make sure you get a QM set though, so getting them at a retail store that will let you open the box is a definite plus...
