Rock Band drums for $30 (ps3/360)

Picked up this deal on Amazon today for $30 on Rock Band drums. I know there's better deals out there for the entire kit but if you're just looking for the drums, here ya go. You can link directly to the deal here

It's worth the extra bucks to get the RB2 or GH:WT drums. Personally, I'd recommend the GH drums. Don't only listen to the people who got problematic kits at launch
 
i don't know why everyone hates on the RB1 drums, with a good set of silencers, they're actually not bad. sure, the pedal is prone to breaking, but someone that breaks a RB1 pedal is going to break a RB2 pedal too, since that paper thin sheet of metal on the RB2 pedal isn't really protecting anything. the only real advantage is that the RB2 drums are wireless, but if wires aren't an issue, a RB1 set will do fine for someone that doesn't want to spend an extra $20 on the RB2 drum kit...

just make sure you get a QM set though, so getting them at a retail store that will let you open the box is a definite plus...

They are on clearance for about 50 at Best Buy (at least in my area). I have debated upgrading mine since I broke my RB1 Kick Pedal recently.
 
I was planning on getting this until I saw that people are breaking the pedals. Is there no way to just buy an extra pedal to fix it?

Yes, there are replacement pedals. Depending on what quality you'd like they range from around $20 to $100. The expensive ones look like deal and it'll help eliminate shin splints and help you do the double kicks a lot easier. I think they're called double kicks.

My RB1 pedal broke mid song. I didn't want to stop playing so I quickly found a small strip of wood which I duct taped around the broken pedal. It worked quite nicely.

Although a few weeks afterwards the outside pads started cracking where they connect to the middle part to the point where a few more hits would have broken them off completely. Had to buy a new set at the point so I went with the RB2 set which has not given me any problems.

Okay, well that's good to know. I'll probably just pick up this set of drums when I get paid then and then buy a replacement set of pedals and try to mod them.

Here are just a couple websites that sell the really good replacement pedals. Haven't tried them myself but they look good.

As a tip you'll want to take it easy not to bang too hard on the outside pads, especially not the outside plastic circle part. After a while they'll develop cracks and eventually break off. You'll want to strike the pads in the middle to prevent that from happening.
