Sorry I don't know if this was mentioned anywhere before as I haven't seen it but,

When you purchase a pack of Energizer® Advanced Lithium Batteries with a Rock Band Label on it, you get a code for a free track download. Can't say its a deal because I haven't priced the batteries, but additional freebies are always worth mentioning. this works for PS3 and Xbox 360.
Cool. I assume it is just 160 pts. though good towards anything since I haven't seen a code that would allow you to choose from 'select' content.

In for The Killers track pack...I was hoping we'd get newer stuff as well like Shadowplay, and their new one Human...maybe later down the pipeline...I hope.

Where is Living Colour? I'm surprised there hasn't been any LC in Rock Band. GH3 had "Cult of Personality" but LC has some kick-ass non-commercial songs that would be great for RB DLC. "Time's Up" comes to mind. Hell, the whole Time's Up album would be great.

Why must you trick me by putting "Lithium" and "free track download" in the same sentence?

I was watching VH1 Classic earlier today, and "Uncle Tom's Cabin" by Warrant came on. I really hope we get some more good music from that era. Not everything was crap, and shit like that would be perfect for this game.

I really hope the announcement for next week is Chinese Democracy. I think I will cry a little inside if it isn't. There is so much shit on there that is going to be a blast to play, even though I know the whole album is going to be some of the hardest music in the game.

I think we'll get classic GnR over Chinese Democracy if history is any indicator. Over the past year we have gotten promotional tunes from Motley Crue, Disturbed, Dream Theater & Offspring (to name a few) that led to getting 'classic' tunes by said artists, in the game(be it DLC or stuff that made it into RB2).

I see it has HMX scratching the record label's back. It's very likely they have positioned themselves as "We'll promote your new tune if you give us X, Y, Z to put in the game as well." It's a solid situation because everyone wins; HMX, the bands & the RB community.
I want more Between the Buried and Me.
I really like the music in the DLC song but the singing is atrocious. Although to be honest, when playing the drums to it, I can't really hear it anyway.

While that is the case, none of the other artists are putting out an album that cost anywhere near to what this one has. Geffen and Rose are going to try and explore any avenue that could allow them to get close to recouping costs.

Plus, I know if they put out a GnR pack it will be all the tired shit that has come out before. The new album is quite good and I really would rather play those tracks instead of Welcome to the Jungle (it would be more of a toss up if we got shit like Rocket Queen and Mr. Brownstone).

Wouldn't one of those avenues be releasing Appetite for Destruction or other GnR as DLC? It doesn't matter where the money comes from as long as it comes in. Geffen owns both so it's not as if there is a pre-Cinese D. pool of money and a post-CD pool of money. And lets face it, no matter how 'tired' you think it is, 'Appetite' would outsell Chinese Democracy 20:1 in a heartbeat. THAT would be the quickest way to recoup the cost of CD (at least in terms of DLC).

They have to split revenues from that with older members, and with all the others who helped make those records. The back catalog isn't solely controlled by Axl and he wasn't the sole writer so it wouldn't be the best way to recoup costs on this album. Focusing on the present would help them recover costs on those expenses and help to build sales on an album that is going to need it to even come close to breaking even.

There absolutely is a pool of money separating Appetite and C.D. Any accounting class will tell you that.

That said, Geffen will never get its money back on C.D., they have to just hope that Axl can put another album out in 2 years. From what I've seen there are a couple songs(The Blues, being the best one IMO) that didn't make the new album and I can't see why not. 20+ years, you would think it would be a double disc.

I hope we get Appetite DLC and new stuff DLC, but if they were smart, they would release 4 different track packs, with 2 songs from each. Make us buy the new stuff to get the old stuff.

Managed that this afternoon. Not really all that tricky, but I would always manage to mess something up.

Definitely one of my favorite songs, and I am pretty pumped that I finally FCed it!

So, I had a hell of a lot of problems getting my RB1 drums repaired. I sent them in just before the 60 day warranty went into effect...the RMA was created 9/24. After three weeks of no communication from ea and no drums sent to me, I emailed them and was told I would get a new set sent to me in 7-8 business days. Over a month from the initial RMA I got a ups number (10/27). After my RMA request turned to "Complete" on the site and I still had no drums and the ups site said "billing information received, waiting on package (something like that), I kind of began to panic. I emailed them again (11/06) expressing my concern and frustration. I was told to call their support line. A few days later I called and the support person told me he did not know why my drums weren't shipped and he would express ship a set for me. On 11/11 I get a UPS number for this shipment. On the fourteenth I get my drums....finally.

Well, to make things more complicated, today I get my "express" drums from the ups guy. Apparently, It took a month and a half to freakin' get my drums replaced and I get two sets. I was just going to keep them, but my brother went on this karma rant with me and I guess I just want to know what other people would do.

Dang, this week was great.

California Uber Alles + That's When I Reach for My Revolver = Super Win.

I felt like a chump for having to dial it down to hard, though. I can't alt-strum at all and it kills me on the punk charts on expert cause my multiplier goes to shit.

fucking In the Moment song.

I played a Make a Setlist with Crooked X, The 2 Lacuna Coil songs, and that In the Moment one. I get 5 stars on everything, I'm on the last song near the end looking good, and then that fucking solo comes outta nowhere and destroys my set.

Bullshit.

Grabbed the Foo Fighters album, Dead Kennedys pack, the Crooked X track, one of the Lacuna Coil tracks, and that In The Moment track. Played through the Dead Kennedys pack, they're all really fun to play. Can't wait to go through the rest later. Kinda glad I missed a week.

Agreed, the DK pack is more fun than I was expecting...but man did they go overboard on the censorship (yet again). Even "ass" is censored. Come on. If they can leave a song that says "GOD DAMN YOU HALF JAPANESE GIRLS" clear as day in the opening line of the song, they can leave an "ass" alone that's half-unintelligible anyway.

Wouldn't mind a follow-up DK pack in the future. Soup is Good Food, Stealing People's Mail, and maybe...Jock-O-Rama? Let's Lynch the Landlord?

I wish we could get more of pinkerton, or the blue album, or green, or red, make believe.... We really should have Weezer Pack 7 or 8 by now....

Of course for accounting purposes, but as far as Geffen is concerned as long as the GnR 'brand' is bringing in money, they are making back their investment.

I wish we'd just get the red album from a purely vocal standpoint. I don't sing a lot, but Weezer is easy to sing, and fun as hell!

I would love to sing Pig and Cold Dark World.

detail, please. I may pick this up this afternoon on PSN (Mission of Burma for certain).

I was confident that they'd omit 'how the $$$$ers feel cold' at the very least, but dunno of the others.

For instance, in Holiday in Cambodia, the line is "Kiss ___ while you _____ so you can get rich"

The censoring sounded kind of jagged from what I played, for lack of a better word, like it was done hastily and not cleaned up too well. I don't really mind that sort of thing, so I'm fine with it. Just glad that it's leagues better than Police Truck in 80's, but that goes without saying.

From the RB2 twitter feed:

11/25 Unconfirmed (but likely, appears on RB1 store): Killers 3 pack, Y.Malmsteen 3 pack, 2 Soundgarden singles, Lamb of God - Laid to Rest

That's strange. Not sure Yngwie would be the right choice for RB2, but still awesome if it is.
Probably pick up the YM pack and LoG if it's confirmed.

Soundgarden always makes for some good vocals... and everything else!
title track from Superunknown is unlikely but I'd be stoked if that was in there!
"Outshined" maybe???

still itching for SEVENDUST and I would kill a duck for some Depeche Mode!

It's a shame that Superunknown, like Nevermind, is spread out over 2 games, such that a full album download seems unlikely - it would've been a good one.

from Shagrath on DVDtalk:

Soundgarden Singles:
Jesus Christ Pose
Pretty Noose

Lamb of God- Laid To Rest

Yngwie Malmsteen Pack 01
Red Devil
Damnation Game
Caprici Di Diablo

The Kilers Pack 01
Spaceman
Mr. Brightside
Smile Like You Mean It

I'm all over Jesus Christ Pose. Probably my favorite Soundgarden song. And it's also fun to imagine a frustrated K-Mart photographer yelling that at an easily distracted family who has come in to get their portrait taken.

More fun to imagine: Shagrath sitting down at his computer in his full outfit posting on DVDTalk.

 I knew that was coming! That's the only song I've encountered on RB that I can't get through. I haven't played through Visions, or whatever that song is called, however.
