Rodney Dangerfield is dead at 82.

Wow, I have no idea he was that old. And he still doesn't get any respect, damn that sucks.

This sucks. Not only was a great comedian, he was an excellent judge of talent and gave so many comedians their big break at his Dangerfield's comdey club. Not many other people would have taken a chance on the Diceman.

RIP Rodney.

I will now pop in Caddyshack and relive the memories.

i guess thats where cheapy gets his style. RIP rodney, we will truely miss you.. and your glad wrap commercials.

 that sux, so many great oomedians dead in the past decade. I hate it when celebrities whose movies I actually watch die. Hope he's finally getting some respect.

I rembering posting the article of him in a coma, so I figured it was inevitable...I saw an interview with him and he did not look very healthy. A definite loss
!

....for some reason all I can remember is that movie with him involving soccer and someone dressing in drag....what was the name of that thing.....Soccer Dad or something???...

Ladybugs?

Wholy shit, Rodney... dead... wow. Well, rest in peace, RD, we will all miss you. :(

And damn I didn't know he was that old either

This sucks. He was a great comedian. I think I need to watch Back to School tonight.

Rest in Peace, Rodney.

Truely sucks he is dead. I think I may go and pick up his book in the next day or so and read about one of the funniest people ever.

I have 2 of his comedy cds. I will listen to them in his honor tonight. God bless this great commedian.

RIP

I think I read that he had previously had a ton of heartattacks and maybe even heart surgery before this so , it was kind of inevitable that it stopped working.

And for those that didn't know, the kid (Jonathan Brandis) who did the drag in Ladybugs committed suicide a few years ago... this is also the same one that did the smash hit Sidekicks with Chuck Norris...
Yeah, Lady Bugs. The kid dressed in drag to play with the chicks.
Wow, and if anybody else remembers, the kid who dressed up in drag in that movie was the late Johnathan Brandis who hung himself almost a year ago. That only leaves Jacquee and the mom from "Mr. Belvedere" as the surviving castmembers.

Now my dreams of a Ladybugs sequel will never be fully realized... NO!!!!

This really sucks. He was a damn fine comedian. Didn't he recently have surgery for something wrong with his brain? RIP, RD.

I remember hearing just a little bit ago (month or 2 I think) that he was having quite a bit of health problems. He hasn't been looking or doing so well lately. He was great, and he deserves to RIP.

Alas fair Rodney, we hardly knew ye...

Caddyshack is probably my all time favorite movie and Rodney was a large reason for that. Also Back to School is an underappreciated work of genius. The world is a sadder place without Mr. Dangerfield in it.

There was a story in Entertainment Weekly a few months ago on Rodney. It said he had some chronic neck problem that not only caused a lot of pain but was also inoperable. Only way he was able to deal with it was through medicinal marijuana. At least he's at peace now.

Rodney may not have had respect, but he had a board game:

I don't remember all the exact details, but I remember reading about Andy Kaufman opening a show for Rodney. He came out as Tony Clifton and everyone was booing and throwing stuff and chanting for Rodney. Tony said Rodney wasn't coming out until he got through his set - meanwhile, Rodney was backstage watching all of this and laughing his ass off.

And who can forget his guest appearance on The Simpsons as the role of Larry Burns:

There's my tribute to Rodney. I'm glad he was around to entertain us for so long. He'll be missed by me as well.

No that i have never seen before..Rodney board game..that is nice.

RIP Rodney

I guess everyone is doing a memory...
When he guest starred on In Living Color..that was funny.

I -thought- the world was a sunnier place today.
The only better news would be if he had died falling from the sky onto Don Rickles.

I kid, of course. But I really felt nothing but distaste when seeing this guy perform. No big loss, comedy-wise, in my opinion.

It would be kind of hypocritical to not allow a bit of crude humor at the guy's expense... it's the perfect homage. Of all the posts here, which one do you think -he- would enjoy the most?

I wasn't trolling, just sharing my opinion.

Ah, now the lurking dissenters take voice! Yea, he was unfunny! Don't encourage a generation of copycats.
