thats a crazy price for the PS3, nice find! Makes me wish I had waited a bit now...

Any CAG that doesn't jump on that price is nuts.

edit: buy a 160gb drive for $56 from Canada Computers and a $15 2.5 inch external HDD enclosure, bam, PS3 room AND portability!
 
sweet deal. i'll check my local rogers stores...i've been trying to find a cheap ps3 as a 2nd blu-ray/media player. i know what i'm doing tomorrow :)
 
Are there any YLOD issues with the 40 gig? Even 249.99 is worth it if the 40 gigs are the same as the new 80 and 160 ones.
 
Does anyone know if rogers is carrying Jasper 360's yet? I don't think even EB is confirmed jaspers yet.
 
I don't think you can repeat the 10 bonus points thing like that; you couldn't for the last one and I doubt it'll be any different for this one.
 
Last gift card promo the cashier told me you could get multiple cards (and even encouraged me to do so) but the points didn't get added automatically. She had to "call in" for a manual override... so maybe it's not supposed to be multiple use.

40GB is enough for me right now.

No coupon needed
10 star points is instant and appears on the receipt.
Csr scans a barcode and youre all set!

There IS a limit of only $50 savings by using 100 points (doesn't apply to this scenario, I'm just sayin').

CSR scan's their barcode right? Not the one on the coupon? So you just go in coupon-less, ask to load $25 on a GC, mention the promo, and they scan their own barcode they have to activate the 10 points?
 
Yup...but you dont need a coupon and the POS system does NOT have a limit built in to how many times one can use this promo...

I just tried this in Calgary and even though they scanned the barcode multiple times (I even got them to try it on separate transactions) it would only give 10 points the first time. It would have been great for $199, but $249 ain't bad.

As an update, the west hillhurst and 17th ave stores don't have any 40gb in stock. The richmond road had 1 left, however it was $299 edition.

$299 for the 40gb bundle includes Singstar with 2 mics, sixaxis, bluray remote and the movie jumper.
$249 for the 40gb bundle with sixaxis and spiderman 3.

no 40gb consoles around me, which i kind of expected. i did talk to a guy at eb today and he said they have a lot of 40gb still in stock...i'll be there as soon as they can drop the prices.
 
Also, the guy at the west hillhurst sotre in Calgary said that he expects to have a couple more 40gb coming in the next little while. The one that I bought at the richmond road store had actually just arrived about 30mins prior.

The only way it will work on separate transactions is if you have multiple star rewards accounts, which cost $10 a piece! ;)

I already have put five through on MY ONE account...

That was taken from the coupon offer. I know that you can do it without the coupon, but the manager confirmed that it was only 10 points per account, coupon or not.

Even when they tried doing separate transactions, it wouldn't work.

Somehow it did for you. Since you seem to be the only one who has confirmed this working for them (and me being the only one so far to say it didn't work), I would mark this down as YMMV. Although it's even looking like it was just luck that you got it to work for you. But for everyone's sake, let's hope my experience was the odd one out! :)

I also called about 7 Rogers stores and not one of them had a $249 PS3... the ones that had ANY PS3's said they were $299.
 
What could the mods possibly do about klepto? He's not breaking any rules...sure, he's annoying as sin, but again, you can't ban a guy because he posted a deal on RFD from CAG.

Meh, the rules are clearly stated for the forums. Kind of like if you get caught speeding; You broke the law, and will rarely get a warning (Unless you're a smoking hot babe).
 
I phoned one that was kind of local.. they had two 299 ones.. but the 'bundle' was 1 that was "the system and batman begins blu ray" and the other is "the system and jumper blu ray".. what's up with that? I'm reading it's supposed to come with singstar and genji but the person on the phone didn't mention them...
