Hey guys, I was just at my local Rogers renting a game, and saw signage on the shelves basically stating:

Get $200 credit towards the purchase of a PS3/Wii/360

When you sign up for Rogers Yahoo! High Speed internet.

Didn't really look at the fine print, as I'm already on their "service" and have all 3 consoles...

I assume that it's for new customers only. Great deal if you're looking to switch to a semi-reliable, mostly-fast cable internet service. Especially on Wii.

What area is this? Rogers especially has different promos depending on the area. If it's BC, that's a pretty good deal considering Rogers doesn't have any contracts for Internet here. Although that might have changed.

can I sign up, use the $200 credit towards a wii and then cancel after 2 months? Would they charge me $200 if I cancel only after a month or 2.

I just visited Rogers' site:

1 Available to new residential customers in serviceable areas who sign up for Rogers Yahoo! Hi-Speed Internet Express (regular price is $44.95/month) or Rogers Yahoo! Hi-Speed Internet Extreme (regular price is $52.95/month). Modem rental ($3.00/month) or purchase required ($99). Taxes and a $4.95 one-time activation fee applies. Ends December 31st, 2007 and cannot be combined with any other offer. Certain restrictions and installation charges may apply. Gift Cards will be mailed out upon the customer's activation date and should take up to 4 weeks for delivery. Subject to change at any time without notice.

Says nothing about a contract. And it's $200 towards ANYTHING at Rogers Video or TheShoppingChannel.

is this for any type of sign up or does it have to be at regular price? i just signed up like two weeks ago under a student package so im wondering if i could con them into giving me one heh

Telus' deal is probably better though. $400 American Express gift card, but 3 year sign.

For this deal it seems to be a 1 year verbal contract.
